00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we go through the
00:03next few days, the weather is certainly looking largely settled across the UK. We're not quite
00:07there just yet. We've got this band of rain across Northern Ireland and Scotland tonight.
00:12Some of this could potentially be quite heavy. Further east, it's generally dry with some
00:16clear skies. Could just see some mist and fog forming in places and also a touch of
00:20frost in a few prone spots. But further west, under the cloud and rain, a fairly mild night
00:25compared to lately with temperatures not falling much lower than 7 or 8 degrees. So for most
00:31of us, we start the day rather cloudy on Sunday. Some brightness in the east, but this band
00:37of cloud and outbreaks of rain will just gradually spread their way a little bit further eastwards
00:40during the course of the day. So quite a gloomy day for parts of Midlands, Central, Southern
00:44England, Wales with some outbreaks of rain on and off. It does improve for parts of Scotland
00:49and Northern Ireland as the afternoon goes on. But in any sunshine, that may well just
00:54start to trigger a few showers. So just be a bit wary of that. But in the sunshine, actually
00:58feeling quite warm. Highs reaching 17 degrees in a few spots. But stuck under the cloud,
01:03still feeling a little bit disappointing really for the time of year. As we move into the
01:09evening, a lot of the rain generally fizzling out. So by midnight, I think most of the UK
01:13should be generally dry. Some clear skies around, especially for Northern Scotland and
01:18eventually into parts of East Anglia, Southeastern England. So here, just like tonight, we could
01:23just see a few mist and fog patches forming and also the odd patch of frost too. But elsewhere,
01:29a rather cloudy and mild night to come. So we start Monday morning with some good sunshine
01:34across East Anglia and London and the South East. It may well just briefly turn cloudy
01:39again though here before we move into the afternoon. Best of the sunshine I think though
01:44during the day really for parts of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire into Midlands, Central, Southern
01:48England and eventually into Northern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere, across Southern
01:53Scotland, North West England into Wales, South West England, another rather grey day to come.
01:58And this will reflect the temperatures in the sunshine. We could see highs reaching
02:0119 degrees, possibly even 20 degrees in the sheltered parts of Scotland. But where we
02:07hang on to the cloud, generally temperatures remaining in the mid-teens. And then moving
02:13on into Tuesday, what we start to see is an area of high pressure really begin to build
02:18across the UK. This will start to bring in a fairly keen easterly breeze across the country.
02:23And as that easterly breeze comes over a relatively cold North Sea, temperatures here hovering
02:27around 7 to 9 degrees. This starts to cool the air. So for many eastern parts of the
02:33country, it's going to feel a little bit nippy on Tuesday with temperatures struggling around
02:3711 to 12 degrees along the coast. But come inland, especially out towards the west, sheltered
02:42from that wind, again, we will see highs reaching 18, 19, possibly 20 degrees.
02:47But you can find out more about the weather for the week ahead on our social media channels

02:56all from me for now. Take care and I'll see you again soon.
