00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Well, it has been
00:04a wet weekend for most of us and that's all courtesy of this area of low pressure which
00:10has really dominated proceedings over the weekend. As we go into early part of next
00:15week that does start to move off towards the continent. That allows this area of high pressure
00:19to begin to build in. That will turn things briefly drier and more settled. But you can
00:23see further weather fronts and tightly packed isobars coming in across the north as we go
00:27in towards the middle part of the week bringing in further rain. And then later on it does
00:32allow some colder air to start to move in as we head towards Friday and Saturday. Back
00:38to the here and now. We end Sunday with a good deal of cloud around. That cloud will
00:44be thick enough in places to produce some rain. We're keeping a close eye on this next
00:48band of rain which moves in across parts of south Wales and south west England overnight.
00:52It could turn quite squally leading to some difficult driving conditions. But with all
00:57the cloud and rain and wind around it's going to be another fairly mild picture right across
01:02the board. Most towns and cities stand firmly above freezing. So as we start Monday again
01:09we just need to keep an eye on this band of rain. Could be quite a wet commute for some
01:12southern counties of England. Behind it actually does turn quite sunny for a time across parts
01:17of the Midlands, East Anglia and south east England. But unfortunately it won't last.
01:21The cloud will again return here as the afternoon goes on and for most as we go through the
01:26afternoon it is going to be a fairly grey picture. Still the risk of some outbreaks
01:30of rain potentially turning fairly persistent across the far north of Scotland into the
01:34afternoon. And with more of a northerly component to the wind it will feel a little bit cooler
01:38than it has been of late. But still generally on the mild side with most places staying
01:43in double figures. So into the evening again a lot of cloud around with that rain just
01:51gradually sinking its way a little bit further southwards into Scotland. That will then allow
01:55us clearer skies across the far north of Scotland and also across parts of Northern
01:59Ireland later. So here actually we may well see a touch of frost as we start Tuesday morning.
02:04But elsewhere it is going to be another fairly mild start to the day with temperatures not
02:09falling much lower than around 7 to 9 degrees. So all in all on Tuesday for England and Wales
02:15it's going to be another grey day with some further outbreaks of rain especially across
02:18more eastern parts of England. Scotland and Northern Ireland however seeing some sunshine.
02:24That sunshine may well start to turn increasingly hazy later on in the day as we start to see
02:28this next weather front start to show its face. Increasing winds here too and maybe
02:33the odd spot of rain across the Western Isles and the far north of Scotland. But elsewhere
02:39it is going to be another rather grey day. Temperature wise very similar to what we will
02:44see on Monday. So again reaching around 10 to 12 degrees in the south. But it might feel
02:49quite cool along this eastern seaboard thanks to that wind. Well if you want more information
02:55about the weather for the week ahead you can always check out our website or our app and
03:00don't forget to follow us on YouTube. But that's all from me for now. Take care and
03:04I'll see you again soon.
