00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from The Met, as well. As we go into
00:04the second half of the weekend, I'm afraid to say that there is more rain in the forecast.
00:09It's all courtesy of this area of low pressure which has been dominating the UK as we've
00:13gone through Saturday. As we go through Sunday, it's not really going to go very far but then
00:18it does eventually move in towards the continent as we go into early next week. That will allow
00:23this area of high pressure to begin to build in. That will turn things a little bit drier
00:27and more settled for a time. But then further outbreaks of rain will then move in towards
00:32parts of northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland as we go into Wednesday. But back
00:37to the here and now as we end Saturday. Actually, we will start to see some clearer skies for
00:42a time across parts of England and Wales. So there may be a good opportunity to see
00:45the meteor shower tonight here. Further north, rather grey with further outbreaks of rain.
00:51Some of this rain will be potentially fairly heavy and that will sink its way south-eastwards
00:55as we go through the course of the night. It will be quite a blustery night across the
00:58UK too, especially down towards the south-western corner where we will see some coastal gales
01:03and also up across the very far north-east of Scotland. So with the cloud, rain and wind
01:09around, it's not going to be a cold night. Certainly for the time of year, these temperatures
01:13are well above average. Around the north, we're looking at most towns and cities falling
01:18down to around 7 to 9 degrees. In the south, firmly staying in double figures.
01:23So as we start Sunday, actually, we may well see some sunshine initially across the south-eastern
01:29corner of England if you're up earlier enough. Elsewhere, rather grey skies with some outbreaks
01:33of rain working their way eastwards. Some of this rain will be heavy at times and then
01:39behind it, we'll start to see some brighter skies for parts of Northern Ireland, maybe
01:43the far west of Wales and south-western England. But really, the best of the brightness as
01:49we go through the course of the day will probably be reserved for eastern Scotland, maybe the
01:53far north-eastern corner of England too. Temperature-wise on Sunday, generally reaching
02:00around 12 degrees up across Scotland. Further south, we'll be in the teens, around 14 or
02:0715 degrees, probably the max. So a little bit cooler than what we have seen on Saturday.
02:13Into the evening, we will start to just see a little bit of a drier and clearer spell
02:17of weather moving in across parts of England and Wales for a time, but it won't last. You
02:21can see this next little area of rain moving in as the night goes on. For Scotland and
02:26Northern Ireland, we remain rather cloudy with some further outbreaks of rain with potentially
02:31the clearest skies as we start Monday morning over towards north-eastern England and down
02:36in towards Yorkshire. But with the cloud and rain around, again, it's going to be another
02:40fairly mild one. As we start Monday morning, temperatures will be again above average for
02:45the time of year, maybe more in towards the high single figure mark rather than the low
02:51double figures what we will see tonight. So as we go into Monday, this area of cloud
02:56and rain across southern England and Wales will clear in towards France as we go through
03:00the course of the morning. Behind it, we will see a brief drier and brighter interlude developing
03:06across northern England. That will sink its way into parts of the Midlands and East Anglia
03:10as the afternoon goes on. Elsewhere, a good deal of cloud around, maybe a few brighter
03:15moments for Northern Ireland. For Scotland, actually, it's going to be fairly grey and
03:19damp across eastern parts with that rain potentially a little bit persistent at times.
03:25In the west, it will feel a little bit cooler thanks to this nagging northerly wind. Elsewhere,
03:29again, temperatures around average or maybe just a smidgen above, especially down towards
03:34the south-eastern corner. Well, if you want more information about the weather where you
03:38are over the next few days, you can always check out our website or our app and don't
03:42forget to follow us on YouTube. That's all from me for now. Take care and I'll see you
03:46again soon.
