00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Met Office. As we go through the
00:04next 24 hours we see another bound of rain moving across the country. This is the situation
00:10for this afternoon, mainly focused across western areas. We're probably hanging on to
00:15some sunshine across East Anglia and the South East, but this rain will gradually work its
00:19way eastwards as the afternoon goes on, turning quite heavy and persistent in places, especially
00:24across parts of Scotland, South Wales and South Western England. So here we do have
00:29warnings in force as we go through the course of the afternoon, so do take care if you
00:33are out and about. Wind's also quite strong, especially again out towards the west, could
00:38see gales or severe gales in places, but with the wind coming in from the south, it'll be
00:43a fairly mild day, temperatures for most in double figures. As we go through the evening
00:48this rain will continue to work its way eastwards. Again, warnings in force well through the
00:54evening and overnight. Heaviest and most persistent rain focusing down towards the
00:59east as we go through the course of the night, allowing some clearer skies to return across
01:04Northern Ireland and Scotland. Here we will also see some showers, but a chilly end to
01:10the night here, temperatures falling down to about 5 to 7 degrees. But under the cloud
01:14and the rain across England and Wales, a fairly mild night for the time of year, potentially
01:19staying in double figures down towards the southeastern corner. So going into Sunday,
01:24a mixture of sunshine and blustery showers really for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:29But for England and Wales, a rather grey day and this rain across the southeast just coming
01:34and going as the day goes on. So we could see some heavy bursts returning as the afternoon
01:39moves into the evening. But for the main bulk of England and Wales away from the southeastern
01:44corner, it's just really a rather grey day to come. But despite the cloud, fairly mild
01:50once again, temperatures potentially reaching 14 degrees in a few spots. But factoring the
01:55rain in the southeastern corner probably won't feel like that. A little bit cooler for Scotland
02:00and Northern Ireland. But here, as I said, we will see some sunshine. And then having
02:05a look into the new working week, we will finally say goodbye to the low pressure, which
02:10has been dominating the scene over this previous week, starting to see high pressure beginning
02:15to build in. A bit of a battleground middle of the week, so could continue to see the
02:20risk of some rain in the west. But the further east you are, greater chance of staying drier.
02:25But also we start to pick up a little bit of cooler air as well. So temperatures will
02:29gradually cool off as the week goes on and we may see an increase in risk of frost and
02:35fog. But we'll show up on that as we go through the next week. But for now, that's all for
02:40me and I'll see you again soon.
