00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Well, as we go
00:03through the rest of this weekend, a little bit of a north-south split across the country,
00:07still fairly unsettled across the north. But for most of us in the south, it should be
00:11fairly dry. But for all of us, it's going to turn increasingly mild, all thanks to the
00:15southerly winds which will develop as we go through the next couple of days, most of us
00:20by Sunday into the milder air. But it won't last for too long. We will see the cooler
00:25air begin to move back in as we go into early part of next week. But back to the here and
00:29now for the rest of Saturday afternoon, a fair bit of cloud around. Most of this cloud
00:34is going to be medium to high level, so there will still be some bright spells around. Best
00:39of sunshine probably up across the very far north-east of Scotland and across southern
00:45and eastern parts of England too. The cloud will also be thick enough in places to produce
00:49some spots of rain, especially across parts of Northern Ireland, with a more organised
00:53band of rain just stretching across the very far north of Scotland into Orkney and Shetland.
01:00But for most of us, temperatures should begin to climb up towards the high single figures,
01:04potentially up to 10 to 11 degrees across the south-west and maybe also across the far
01:09north of Scotland too. So into this evening, for a lot of England and Wales actually, it
01:15should stay fairly dry. Best of the clearer skies will be over towards the eastern parts
01:20of England, where for Scotland and Northern Ireland here, the skies will be rather cloudy
01:25again. It will be thick enough in places to produce some spots of rain, especially
01:29across the higher ground of Scotland throughout the night. But under the cloud and rain across
01:34Scotland and Northern Ireland, it's going to be a mild night. Some places may well just
01:37stay into double figures. But over towards the eastern parts of England, we will see
01:42a touch of frost as we start Sunday morning. But here we will see some sunshine first thing
01:47in the morning. Elsewhere, a good deal of cloud around and again that cloud will be
01:50thick enough in places to produce the odd spot of rain. But the cloud will break up
01:54across the country, giving some sunny spells almost anywhere. But then later on in the
01:59day, we will see this next band of rain moving across parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
02:04Some heavy rain on it and also some strong winds. The winds turning increasingly strong
02:09across parts of western Scotland and eventually into Orkney and Shetland. Could see some gusts
02:15easily reaching 50 to 60 miles an hour. So if you do have any travel plans across northern
02:19and western parts of Scotland during Sunday, please do keep an eye on the forecast as we
02:23go through the rest of this weekend. Temperatures tomorrow, with that milder air across the
02:30whole of the country, most towns and cities firmly into double figures. Across parts of
02:34north Wales, maybe the far north of Northern Ireland too, could even see temperatures reach
02:39around 15 to 17 degrees. So a very mild end to the weekend for most of us. If you want
02:45more information about the weather where you are over the next couple of days, you can
02:49always check out our app and don't forget to follow us on our social media channels.
02:53But that's all from me for now, take care and I'll see you again later.
