00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. As we go through
00:05into the new week, the weather is set to remain fairly changeable across the UK. Low pressure
00:09generally dominated. We see an area of low pressure moving across the northern half of
00:13the UK initially this week. High pressure tries to build in. It may well give the odd
00:17drier and brighter day from time to time. But as we end the week, another area of low
00:21pressure really dominates proceedings across the UK with further spells of rain.
00:26Back to this evening, and we have this week weather front which will gradually spread
00:29its way eastwards across the country. Ahead of it, any daytime showers generally fading
00:34away. And then behind it, some clearer skies for parts of the country. And under the clear
00:38skies, we will see a few mist and fog patches forming. And then later on, some showers just
00:44arriving into parts of Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. For most towns and cities,
00:48however, temperatures will remain in double figures. Could just fall into single figures
00:53across parts of southern Scotland, maybe northwestern parts of England too.
00:58So if we start Monday, a bank holiday for most of us. Some of us will start off with
01:02some sunny spells. Still got this finger of cloud across parts of the Midlands and central
01:06southern England. And as the day goes on, actually a lot of us are seeing the cloud
01:10bubbling up. So quite a cloudy afternoon to come. Still some bright spells around, however.
01:16And that cloud will be thick enough in places to produce the odd shower. Showers mainly
01:20focused across Northern Ireland and Scotland. They could be a little bit heavier here, but
01:23across England and Wales, hopefully most of the showers should be fairly light. Temperatures
01:28a little bit warmer than they have done over the weekend. Could see highs reaching around
01:3221, 22 degrees across the southern half of the UK. And in any sunshine, it should feel
01:37fairly pleasant for the time of year. Into the evening, a lot of the showers across England
01:42and Wales will quickly fade away. Maybe a pleasant end to the bank holiday weekend here.
01:47But further north across Scotland and Northern Ireland, this band of rain will spread its
01:50way south-eastwards as we go through the course of the night. Behind it, some blustery showers
01:54piling in across parts of western Scotland. So for most of us, it's going to be another
01:59night where temperatures stay in double figures. But just like recent nights, we could just
02:04fall down to about 5 to 6 degrees in some sheltered parts of England, Wales and Scotland.
02:11So Tuesday, we start off with a mixture of cloud and some sunshine. Still this area of
02:16showery rain across Northern Ireland and Scotland. That will gradually spread its way into England
02:20and Wales as the day goes on. But then further showers piling in behind it. Probably the
02:25driest of the conditions down towards the south coast of England. But even here, can't
02:29rule out the odd shower. And in between the showers, there will be some sunshine. Maybe
02:34the best of the sunshine come the afternoon across northern parts of England. Maybe south-west
02:38England also not doing too badly. Temperatures on Tuesday, very similar to what we'll see
02:43on Monday. So highs reaching 21, 22 degrees down towards the southern half of the UK.
02:48But maybe feeling a little bit cooler thanks to the fairly keen wind up across parts of
02:53north-western Scotland. Well, you can find out more about the weather for the rest of
02:57the week on our social media channels. And don't forget to follow us on YouTube for the
03:01latest video updates. But that's all from me for now. Take care and I'll see you again
03:06soon.
