00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. As we go through into
00:05the new working week, the weather is set to remain unsettled across the UK. Low pressure
00:10never far away, bands of rain moving in during the course of the week and especially towards
00:15the end of the week turning quite windy, especially across the southern half of the UK. Back to
00:20Sunday and it's actually quite picture out there at the moment. Plenty of sunshine, especially
00:25across more eastern parts of the country. Further west we will see a few showers, maybe
00:30the odd heavier shower too across the southern half of the country. But for most, winds are
00:35a lot lighter, could just still be a bit blustery across the far north of Scotland, especially
00:40for Orkney and Shetland. Temperatures today, around where they should be for the time of
00:45year. So for Scotland and Northern Ireland, looking at highs reaching around 10-12 degrees,
00:50potentially up to 15-16 degrees across the southern half of England and Wales. So as
00:56we go into this evening, a lot of the showers generally fade in a way that allows clearing
01:00skies right across the board. Could just see a few showers just continuing for Northern
01:04Ireland and maybe the far south west of England. But under the clearer skies, it will turn
01:09quite chilly, a widespread frost developing, especially for Scotland and Northern England.
01:14And after the wet weather, what we have seen over the last few days, we will see the risk
01:19of a few icy stretches. So a yellow ice warning is in effect as we go through the course of
01:24the night. So if you do have any journeys overnight or early tomorrow morning, just
01:28do take some extra care because there could just be some slippery surfaces. Elsewhere,
01:32temperatures in the towns and cities falling into single figures. In the countryside, they
01:36will be a little bit lower than these figures, what we see here. So as we start Monday morning,
01:41we start off on a chilly but bright note across many parts. A few mist and fog patches first
01:46morning, but for most it's a dry picture. Still the risk of some showers for Northern
01:50Ireland and the far west of Cornwall, but for most it will be dry. Best of the sunshine
01:55will be across parts of Scotland and Northern England. Further south, the sunshine increasingly
02:00hazes. We start to see this area of cloud and rain move up from the near continent.
02:06That will then eventually spread its way across many parts as we go through into Tuesday and
02:11that sets us up for an unsettled middle part of the week. But you can find out more about
02:15the weather for the week ahead on our social media channels. And don't forget to follow
02:19us on YouTube. But that's all from me for now. I'll see you again soon.
