00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the MetEOS. Well, this weekend, a little
00:04bit of a north-south split across the country. For Scotland and Northern Ireland, we will
00:08see rather cloudy skies and some outbreaks of rain, where further south, across England
00:12and Wales, it should be a fine weekend to come. So, here's the situation for Saturday.
00:16We've got this weather front across Scotland and Northern Ireland being the focus of the
00:20outbreaks of rain. Where further south, high pressure is beginning to build in, settling
00:24the weather down. And as we go through the next few days, the high pressure will win
00:27the day, leading to a fairly fine period of weather for a lot of the country. As we
00:33go into Wednesday, another weather front does try to come in across Scotland and Northern
00:37Ireland, so we could again see another spell of rain here, middle of the week. But back
00:42to here and now, for the rest of Saturday, a fine afternoon to come across England and
00:47Wales. A lot of sunshine, a little bit of fair weather cloud bubbling up from time to
00:51time, but it shouldn't spoil the sunshine too much. For Scotland and Northern Ireland
00:55however, here, rather cloudy skies, some outbreaks of rain from time to time. Could
00:59just see some brightness, especially across north-eastern parts of Scotland, but generally,
01:03best of the sunshine will be reserved for England and Wales. In the sunshine, feeling
01:08pleasantly warm, could see highs reaching 21 or 22 degrees. But bear in mind, this time
01:13of year, the sun is quite strong. UV levels across England and Wales will be high or potentially
01:17very high in the south-west of England. So do take note and take some precautions if
01:22you are out in the sun for any length of time. Into the evening, a fine end to the day across
01:27England and Wales, but the rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland actually will become
01:31a bit more persistent and also quite heavy at times, especially across the Scottish mountains
01:35as we go through the small hours of Sunday morning. But under the cloud and the outbreaks
01:40of rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland here, temperatures generally holding up into
01:44double figures. But across the south, under the clear skies, actually quite chilly for
01:48the time of year. Parts of Midlands and into Wales, we could see temperatures fall as low
01:52as one or two degrees. So quite a brisk, chilly start for some parts of England and
01:57Wales tomorrow, but that will be compensated by plenty of sunshine. Further north again,
02:02a rather cloudy picture for Scotland and Northern Ireland. The rain will gradually weaken as
02:06we go into the afternoon. So hopefully a little bit more, in a way, of brightness coming through
02:10for parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland come the end of the afternoon. But just like
02:15today, the best of the sunshine will be across England and Wales. However, some eastern coasts
02:20may well just pick up some cloud from time to time. So temperatures here actually may
02:24be a little bit lower on Sunday compared to Saturday. But further west you are again a
02:29pleasantly warm day, highs reaching 21 or 22 degrees. Under the cloud and rain across
02:34Scotland and Northern Ireland, temperatures very similar to today. So again, around the
02:38mid-teens. Then going into next week, really, as I mentioned, high pressure beginning to
02:44dominate. So a lot of the country seeing a fine spell of weather. Temperatures actually
02:48climbing further on Monday. We could see highs potentially into the mid-twenties for
02:52some of us before it then begins to cool down as we go towards the middle of the week. You
02:57can find out more about the weather for the week ahead on our social media channels. That's
03:01all for me for now. Take care and I'll see you again soon.
