00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:03Looking ahead for the rest of this bank holiday weekend, unfortunately it's going
00:07to be a pretty mixed picture across the country, many of us seeing some further
00:10spells of rain and showers. It's all courtesy of this area of low pressure
00:14which is going to hang around really right throughout the bank holiday
00:18weekend and unfortunately it will then be replaced by this next area of low
00:22pressure as we move into next week. So for the rest of Sunday afternoon many of
00:28us seeing a mixture of rain and showers. Some of these showers will be heavy and
00:31thundery, there are various warnings in force throughout the day so if you do
00:36have any travel plans to allow some extra time for your journeys, some
00:39travelling conditions could be quite difficult and to stay up to date with
00:43the latest warnings on our website. But if you do manage to see some sunshine it
00:47won't feel too bad out there, especially across the southern half of the UK. We'll
00:52probably see highs reaching around 19 or 20 degrees. Into this evening the showers
00:57will continue to rumble on, some longer spells of rain developing for a time
01:02across parts of Scotland. But as we go past midnight it will turn drier and
01:06clearer across many central and eastern parts of England, elsewhere
01:11remaining fairly unsettled with further showers coming and going. But where we do
01:15see the clearer skies turning a little bit chilly, temperatures falling into
01:19single figures here but elsewhere temperatures remaining above 10 degrees.
01:24So we do start Bank Holiday Monday off on a fairly bright and sunny note across
01:28central and eastern parts of England but it won't last. Showers developing here as
01:32the day goes on. Elsewhere a mix of cloud and showers, again some of the showers
01:37could merge into some longer spells of rain across Scotland and across
01:41northeastern parts of Scotland here we could potentially see some heavy and
01:44thundery rain developing especially into the afternoon. Elsewhere I think the
01:48showers will be a little bit lighter compared to today. But for all of us it
01:53will be a slightly cooler day. Temperatures I think at best reaching
01:56around 18, possibly maybe somewhere reaching 19 degrees. Then a quick look at
02:03the rest of the half term week. Many of us it will remain fairly changeable,
02:08further spells of rain and showers moving through. But there are hints as we
02:12head towards the end of the week that high pressure will begin to build in
02:15from the west turning a little bit drier and brighter especially across more
02:19western parts of the country. You can find out more about that on our social
02:23media channels but for me for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
