00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Well, as we have a look at the long Easter weekend, for many of us it's going to be a
00:08mixture of sunny spells but also the risk of some further rain at times. It's all because
00:13we're going to see further areas of low pressure dominating the UK. But most of the time we'll
00:18see winds coming up from the south, so it should feel a little bit less cold than it
00:22has been of late.
00:24So a little bit more detail for Good Friday, really it's going to be a mixture of sunny
00:28spells and a scattering of showers. Some of these showers could potentially be on the
00:32heavy side, could hear the odd rumble of thunder. I think the best of the driest weather probably
00:38up across the far north of Scotland. But in the sunshine, temperatures will reach the
00:42low teens across the south, could see highs reaching around 13 or 14 degrees.
00:48Into this evening, showers becoming increasingly restricted to more western and northern parts
00:53of the country. I think central and eastern areas turning largely dry and clear. Could
00:57just see a few misty patches form come dawn and also a touch of ground frost. Temperatures
01:02falling down to about 3 to 4 degrees.
01:05So a chilly start for some of us on Saturday, but there will be some sunshine from the word
01:10go. Just keeping an eye on this area of cloud and rain, may well just fringe into the far
01:14east of East Anglia. But for many, it's going to be a bright day. I think showers mainly
01:19focused across Scotland and Northern Ireland. A good deal of England and Wales actually
01:23probably escaping with a relatively dry day. And in the sunshine, feeling pleasant enough.
01:28I think temperatures across the south reaching around 14 or 15 degrees, up to about 10 to
01:3312 across the north.
01:35Then moving on into Easter Day, don't forget that the clocks do change. 1am becomes 2am
01:42on Sunday morning. And then behind that, really, it's going to be a day of sunny spells and
01:46a scattering of showers. But you can find out more about that on our social media channels.
01:51But for now, take care and I'll see you again soon.
