00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. For most of us,
00:04this Bank Holiday Monday really is going to be a day of sunshine and scattered showers.
00:08But actually, down towards central and eastern parts of England this morning, it should be
00:13a largely fine start to the day. Elsewhere, showers from the world go, and for many of
00:17us, come the afternoon, it will be a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers may merge
00:22into a longer spell of rain at times across parts of Scotland. And for eastern and northeastern
00:26Scotland, actually, here is the greatest risk of seeing some heavy and thundery downpours.
00:31A warning is in force from the Met Office throughout the day here. So, do keep up to
00:35date with the latest warnings on our website. For most of us, it's going to be a slightly
00:40cooler feeling day compared to the weekend. Highs at best reaching around 17 or 18 degrees.
00:48Into the evening, a lot of the showers across England and Wales fading away. Showers also
00:53starting to slowly ease across parts of Scotland. Elsewhere, the showers giving way to a more
00:58persistent band of rain in the west. And some of this rain, come the end of the night, will
01:03be heavy in places. Where the further east you are, probably turning dry and clear. So,
01:08under the clear skies, temperatures just falling into single figures. Where further west you
01:12are, a fairly mild night to come, with lows falling not much lower than 10 to 12 degrees.
01:19So we do start Tuesday off with some sunshine in the east. Where further west, this area
01:25of rain will just gradually spread its way eastward soon, the course of the day. Hanging
01:29on to the driest and brightest weather for the longest, up across the far north east
01:33of Scotland. And then, come the afternoon, it's going to be a little bit brighter coming
01:36through for Northern Ireland and Wales. But a rest of the showers also following the main
01:41rain band. For most temperatures, around average for the time of year. But if you're stuck
01:47under the rain, factor in the breeze, I think it's going to feel fairly disappointing for
01:51this point in May. And then a quick look at the rest of the half-term week. It's unfortunately
01:57remaining fairly changeable for most of the UK. Further spells of rain and showers. And
02:02again, the showers will be heavy and thundery in places. But there are hints high pressure
02:06will start to build in from the west as we head towards the end of the week and into
02:10the weekend. So it's going to be a little bit drier and brighter developing, especially
02:13across more western parts of the UK. But you can find out more about the weather where
02:18you are in the next few days on our website or our app. But for me, for now, take care
02:23and I'll see you again soon.
