00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. As we see at this
00:05bank holiday weekend, the weather is certainly set to remain fairly unsettled across the
00:10U.K. This area of low pressure is still fairly slow moving across the British Isles as we
00:15move through Monday. And unfortunately, that will then quickly get replaced by another
00:19area of low pressure on Tuesday. So, really maintaining this rather changeable picture.
00:25So, as we finish Sunday, for many of us, we start to see the showers ease away. But there's
00:29a risk of heavy rain continuing for southern Scotland until the small hours of Monday morning.
00:34And then by the end of the night, for many central and eastern parts of England, it will
00:38actually turn fairly dry and clear. And under the clear skies here, it will turn a little
00:43bit chilly, temperatures just falling into single figures. Elsewhere, temperatures holding
00:47up around 10 to 12 degrees. So, some sunshine first thing down to central and eastern England.
00:53Elsewhere, showers from the word go. And for many of us, as we go through the course
00:57of the day, we'll continue to see a mix of sunshine and showers. Still the risk of some
01:01persistent rain at times across southern Scotland. And then for northeastern and eastern Scotland,
01:07here is the greatest chance of seeing some thunderstorms as we go through the course
01:10of the day. Some heavy rain around. So, if you do have any travel plans here, do stay
01:15up to date with the latest warnings on our website. And for all of us, it will be a slightly
01:20cooler feeling day compared to the weekend. I think highs best down towards the south,
01:25reaching around 17 or 18 degrees. Into Monday evening, the showers across England and Wales
01:32generally fading away. And they will also eventually start to ease across eastern and
01:36northeastern Scotland. And come the end of the night, many eastern areas of the UK turning
01:41dry and clear, where further west, the next band of rain is beginning to spread in. And
01:45some of this rain will potentially be fairly heavy. So, under the cloud and rain, again
01:50a mild night here. Temperatures holding up around 10 to 12 degrees. But just falling
01:55into single figures across the eastern seaboard of the UK. So, some sunshine first thing here
02:02on Tuesday, where further west, cloud and rain just gradually spreading its way eastwards.
02:08Probably holding on to the driest and brightest weather for longest up towards the far northeast
02:12of Scotland. And for the afternoon, actually parts of Northern Ireland and Wales will turn
02:17a little bit brighter. But also following on behind will be a rash of showers. Temperatures
02:23on Tuesday reaching around average for the time of year. But if you're stuck under the
02:28rain, factor in the breeze, probably feeling fairly disappointing for this point of the
02:33year. And then a quick look at the rest of the half-term week. It's set to remain fairly
02:40changeable. Still a risk of some further rain and some showers. And again, showers
02:44will be heavy and thundery at times. But there are hints as we go towards the end of the
02:49week that's like a little bit drier and brighter will come in from the west. Probably mainly
02:54affecting western areas initially, but hopefully many of us seeing at least a dry spell of
02:59weather coming through at some point over the next weekend. But you can find out more
03:03about the weather for the week ahead on our social media channels. And if you want a local
03:07forecast, don't forget to check out our app or our website. But for me for now, take care
03:12and I'll see you again soon.
