00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. As we go through
00:03the rest of this weekend, it does turn a little bit drier across the country. The area of
00:08rain which has been across us on Saturday will clear off towards Europe. That allows
00:13this bridge of high pressure to build in for Sunday, allowing something a little bit drier
00:17and brighter to develop. But then later on, this next area of rain will just arrive into
00:22the far northwest of the country.
00:25So back to Saturday evening, you can see the area of rain covering a lot of the UK. Some
00:29heavy rain from time to time. It will gradually begin to clear towards the east as we move
00:34into the small hours of Sunday. It does become quite slow moving, however, down towards the
00:38far southeast. So here, it does remain wet right throughout the night. Clearance of the
00:43skies by the end of the night, probably across parts of eastern Scotland and northeast England.
00:48And for all of us, it's going to be a mild night. Temperatures in the north, not much
00:52lower than 7 to 9 degrees. In the south, not falling much lower than 10 to 11. And these
00:57are the type of temperatures really what we should expect during the day this time
01:01of year, not during the night. So quite a mild start to the day on Sunday. A wet start
01:06still down towards the southeast. Some heavy rain from time to time. That will clear off
01:10towards France as we head towards lunchtime. And that will allow many eastern parts to
01:15actually have a fairly decent afternoon. A mixture of cloud and some sunny spells. Northern
01:19Ireland also seeing a relatively dry afternoon with some sunny spells. But for western Scotland,
01:24northwest England, Wales, southwest England, more in the way of cloud. And that cloud will
01:28be thick enough in places to produce the odd spot of rain. Temperatures in the north reaching
01:34between 11 to 13 degrees. In the south, especially in the sunshine, could be up to about 15 or
01:4016 degrees. So we end Sunday off on a relatively dry note. But as we head towards midnight,
01:47we see this next area of rain arriving. Some heavy rain as it moves its way eastwards.
01:52Moves into parts of northwest England and Wales as we start Monday morning. And for
01:57all of us, it's going to be another fairly mild night. Not as mild as Saturday night,
02:01but still nonetheless not much lower than 5 to 8 degrees across the country. That rain
02:07continues to track its way eastwards as we move through Monday. It does weaken across
02:11the south. So very little rain actually arriving into parts of London and the southeast. And
02:16then behind it, plenty of sunshine developing. Probably one of the sunniest days of the week
02:21coming up. The odd shower is possible, but I think most of us will be dry. And then very
02:25later on, we will start to see some thicker cloud and some outbreaks of rain just arriving
02:30into the far west of Northern Ireland and the far west of Scotland. Temperatures on
02:35Monday a little bit down on Sunday, but still mild for the time of year. Highs ranging between
02:419 to 11 in the north, up to 13 or 14 in the south. And then a quick look for the rest
02:47of the week for anyone what is on half term. A ridge of high pressure just continuing for
02:52time across the south. But towards the middle part of the week, we all turn unsettled. Some
02:57heavy rain from time to time. An increasing risk of some strong winds too. And then later
03:01on towards the end of the week, we start to see the winds change to more of a north-westly
03:05direction. Initially bringing temperatures back down to where they should be for the
03:09time of year. Maybe a little bit colder than that in a few spots with a risk of a little
03:14bit of hill snow across the north. But plenty of weather to get through before we get there
03:18and we'll keep you up to date on our website. But for now, that's all from me. Take care
03:23and I'll see you again soon.
