00:00Hello there, welcome to your weather update from the Metavis, where as we go through the
00:03rest of this weekend we will see some further rain at times, especially across the north
00:07of the UK. But for many of us, especially in the south, it's going to remain on the
00:12mild side. So here's the situation for Saturday afternoon. We have some rain and drizzle across
00:17the very far south of England. It's quite misty and murky along some English Channel
00:21coasts here and another area of rain across Scotland and north-eastern England. And actually
00:25this rain's not really going to go far as the afternoon goes on. Elsewhere, Northern
00:30Ireland into Wales, Midlands, East Anglia and especially so for the far north of Scotland,
00:34we will see some sunny spells. But quite chilly across the very far north, temperatures in
00:39Lerwick only reaching 5 degrees. But in the sunshine across the Midlands, East Anglia,
00:43we could see temperatures reaching 15 or 16 degrees. Into this evening, the rain across
00:49the English Channel will sink its way southwards into the continent, leaving clearer skies
00:53here for a time. And also the rain across Scotland, north-eastern England will eventually
00:58move into the North Sea, allowing the driest lot of weather to come in. But turning quite
01:02cold for a time across Scotland, we could see some icy patches where any surfaces remain
01:06damp. So quite a cold night for Scotland and also cooler nights elsewhere, but still on
01:11the mild side for the time of year. Temperatures in most towns and cities not falling much
01:15lower than 7 or 8 degrees. So quite a quiet start in the south on Sunday, but an area
01:22of rain already moving into western Scotland. That will move its way into the rest of Scotland
01:26as the morning goes on. Also bringing in a lot of cloud for Northern Ireland and Northern
01:30England. Could just see a few spits and spots of rain across the high ground here. But further
01:34south, we should see some good brightness. Light and share of the sunshine come in the
01:38afternoon, probably south-western England, central-southern England too. And here we
01:42could see highs reaching 14 or 15 degrees once again. Milder than today for the north,
01:48but this will be tempered somewhat by a strengthening wind which may reach Galeforce come the end
01:53of the afternoon across the western coast of Scotland. Then moving into the early part
01:58of next week. High pressure keeps things settled in the south initially and we're all in the
02:02milder air still. But come the middle part of the week, we see a change in the wind direction
02:07bringing in some cooler air from the north, bringing the risk of some wintry showers,
02:10especially across the northern half of the country and for many of us a return to overnight
02:15frost. But you can find out more about that as we go through into next week on our website
02:20and also through our various social media channels. But that's all from me for now.
