00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your weather update for the Met Office. Well, as we go through
00:03the new week, most of us, it should be largely dry and settled. There is a bit of rain from
00:08time to time across the far north of the U.K. And in fact, as we end the weekend, we still
00:12have this weather front across Scotland and Northern Ireland bringing some rain. But this
00:16will quickly clear as we go through Monday. And for the most part, this area of high pressure
00:21will really dominate proceedings across the U.K., bringing largely settled weather. But
00:25every now and again, some weather fronts will just try to come in across the far north,
00:29and that will be the focus of a few bits and pieces of rain here.
00:33Back to Sunday evening, you can see the weather front across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:37By the time we get to the early hours of Monday morning, the rain mainly focused across eastern
00:41and central Scotland. And all the time, for a good chunk of England and Wales, it should
00:46be largely clear. And under the clear skies, it will turn chilly once again. Some North
00:52Sea low cloud will just filter in, however, across some eastern coasts of England. So
00:57as we start Monday morning, it could be quite a grey start here, quite murky in places.
01:01And that will only slowly burn its way back towards the North Sea as we go through the
01:05course of the morning. The overnight rain across eastern Scotland also slowly clearing
01:10as we go into the afternoon. So by the time we get to lunchtime onwards, for a lot of
01:15the U.K., actually a pleasant afternoon to come. At best, the sunshine still always over
01:20towards the west. And down towards the southwest, we could see highs reaching around 23, possibly
01:25even 24 degrees. But do note, high levels of UV pretty much anywhere across the U.K.
01:31as we go through the next few days. So do take some precautions if you are out and about.
01:36Into the evening, a few showers could just develop for a time across the Pennines, but
01:40they will quickly melt away as we go into the small hours of Tuesday. A few mist and
01:44fog patches then forming. And under the clear skies in the countryside, it will turn chilly.
01:49But for most towns and cities, probably holding up around 8 to 10 degrees.
01:54So for most of us, after any early mist and fog clears away, it's going to be another
01:59sunny day on Tuesday. Exceptions, the far north of Scotland here, some thicker cloud
02:03and some outbreaks of rain moving in and some high cloud may well just also filter into
02:07Northern Ireland as the day goes on. So the lion's share of the sunshine will be across
02:12England and Wales. And in the sunshine, feeling pleasant once again, highs widely into the
02:18low 20s.
02:20Then having a look at the rest of the week, as I mentioned, it's mainly going to be dry
02:24and settled. Still the risk of a little bit of rain from time to time in the north. Always
02:29the best is sunshine across the south. And in the sunshine, feeling quite warm. By Thursday
02:33we could potentially be approaching the mid-20s across the southern half of the UK. But you
02:38can find out more about the weather for the week ahead on our social media channels or
02:42on our website. But that's all from me for now. Take care and I'll see you again soon.
