00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest forecast on the Met Office. As we head into a new month
00:04and also a new season, the weather is certainly set to remain fairly similar, largely dry
00:09and settled. And that's how we end the last day of spring. Clearest of the skies as we
00:14go into Friday morning will be over towards the west. Low cloud across the east will spread
00:18its way a little bit further westwards as the night goes on. It could just be thick
00:22enough in places to produce the odd spot of drizzle, but for most of us it should be dry.
00:27Even under the cloud, temperatures not falling much lower than 8 to 10 degrees. Western Scotland,
00:31Northern Ireland here under the clearest skies could just see a few mist and fog patches
00:35forming and turning quite chilly for the first day of summer here. Could even see a touch
00:40of ground frost in a few spots. But here we will start the new month on a sunny note once
00:46any early mist and fog clears and the sunshine will gradually work its way eastwards as we
00:50go through the course of the morning. And come the afternoon, I think lots of us seeing
00:54some sunshine. But eastern coast could remain stubbornly cloudy for much of the day. Combined
01:00with an easterly breeze, feeling fairly chilly for the time of year. But out towards the
01:04west, just like recent days, feeling pleasantly warm in the sunshine. But do watch out. The
01:08sun is quite strong. It's probably the strongest it gets really across the UK. Could even see
01:13very high levels of UV in the south. So if you are out and about planning a trip to the
01:18beach, do take some sensible precautions and slap on the sun cream.
01:23As we end Thursday, going into Friday, a pleasant end to the day for many western areas
01:28from late sunshine. But just like recent nights, we will see the low cloud across the North
01:31Sea spread its way westwards as the night goes on. So for much of England and Wales,
01:36it's going to be a cloudy night. But under the cloud, temperatures not falling much lower
01:40than 8 to 10 degrees. Where further north, another chilly one to come as we start Friday
01:45morning. But for many, after a cloudy start in the central and eastern parts of the country,
01:52it will improve. Lots of sunshine around. Still the risk that that cloud may well linger
01:57across some eastern coasts. It may well turn a little bit more cloudier across some parts
02:01of northwest Scotland with the odd spot of rain here. But for many, it's going to be
02:05a dry day with lots of sunshine. And in the sunshine, out towards the west, it will once
02:11again feel pleasantly warm with highs in the low 20s.
02:15Having a quick look at the weekend, and really it's a case of rinse and repeat. This area
02:20of high pressure remains firmly in charge, keeping that fairly cool easterly breeze across
02:25eastern parts. The temperature is still quite chilly for the time of year here. Out towards
02:29the west, plenty of sunshine. And in the sunshine, feeling pleasantly warm. But again, do watch
02:35out for high levels of UV. If you want more information about the weather for the next
02:39few days where you are, you can always check out our website or follow us on social media.
02:43But it's all from me for now. Take care and I'll see you again soon.
