00:00Hello, there. Welcome to your latest weather update from The Met. As we start a new working
00:05week, the weather is set to remain fairly changeable across the country, but for some
00:09of us, increasingly mild. So, as we end the weekend, we've still got this area of low
00:13pressure close by. It will gradually fill as we go into Monday, but then that will allow
00:18another weather system to begin to move in as we approach Tuesday.
00:22Back to the here and now for the rest of Sunday. Still got this area of rain across many parts
00:27of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It will gradually weaken as we go through the
00:31course of the night and really, it's just going to leave behind quite a lot of cloud,
00:35some mist and murk across many parts of the United Kingdom. Some clear skies down towards
00:40Devon and Cornwall and up across the very far north-west of Scotland. So here, who could
00:44just see a touch of frost in a few spots. But for many parts of the country, thanks
00:49to the cloud cover, a fairly mild night to come. Temperatures not falling much lower
00:53than around 5-7 degrees. But we do start Monday off on a fairly grey, murky note,
00:59especially across the high ground. Some spits and spots of light rain and drizzle too. And
01:04then a more persistent band of rain just reaching the far west of Scotland and Northern Ireland
01:08as we approach lunchtime. But for many parts of England and Wales, a much drier picture
01:13compared to Sunday. But again, sunshine's going to be at a premium tomorrow. Best of
01:19the brightness once again down towards Devon and Cornwall. The Channel Islands also seeing
01:23some spells of sunshine. So in any sunshine, temperatures reaching around 11 or 12 degrees.
01:29Elsewhere, with lighter winds, it will feel a little bit less cold compared to the weekend.
01:33But still, temperatures a little bit below where they should be for the time of year.
01:40Into the evening, the band of rain across Scotland will gradually work its way north-eastward.
01:44Some snow across the high ground is also possible. Elsewhere, dry initially, but then another
01:49band of rain then approaches in across parts of Northern Ireland, Wales and south-west
01:53England by the end of the night. So where we do see the cloud and rain, it's going to
01:58be another fairly mild night. Temperatures not falling much lower than around 5 to 6
02:02degrees. Elsewhere across England, we will see some clearer skies later on. So it could
02:06just turn a little bit chillier, but that will then be compensated by initially some
02:10sunshine Tuesday morning. But it won't last as the band of rain further west will spread
02:14across all parts of England and Wales as we go through the course of the morning. Some
02:18heavy rain as it moves its way north-eastwards and it approaches southern Scotland as we
02:23move into the afternoon. So the best of any sunshine come the afternoon will be across
02:27the very far north of Scotland. It does turn drier for Wales and south-west England, but
02:33still fairly cloudy, but increasingly mild. We will see probably highs reaching around
02:3813 degrees Tuesday afternoon. Elsewhere, definitely feeling milder than it has been, just hanging
02:44on to the cooler conditions up across the very far north of Scotland. Then looking ahead
02:49to the rest of the working week, Wednesday to Friday, we're still going to be dominated
02:55by areas of low pressure. But initially, we are dragging in some milder air. So Wednesday,
03:00Thursday could turn increasingly mild, temperatures reaching the mid-teens. But generally, we're
03:05going to see further outbreaks of rain, some increasing winds at times too. The wettest
03:10of the weather across more northern and western parts, especially Wednesday, Thursday. But
03:14as I said, turning increasingly mild, especially across the south. Well, if you want more information
