00:00Hello there. Well, Tuesday's been a record breaker across the UK, so some parts of the
00:05country reached 40 degrees or more during Tuesday afternoon. That's all down to this
00:10very hot air. It will gradually work its way towards the continent as we go through the
00:16next few days. So by Thursday, temperatures in the south are probably nearer to the mid
00:2020s rather than the low 40s. But we still have some hot air out there at the moment,
00:27with a couple of weather warnings still in force until midnight. We've got the red warning
00:31covering quite a big chunk of England, with the amber warning stretching up towards southern
00:35Scotland and also parts of Wales. So temperatures as you're heading towards bed tonight could
00:40still be in excess of 30 degrees in a few spots, so it's certainly going to be a very
00:44uncomfortable one to sleep in. You could also see a few thunderstorms, especially in the
00:49east as the night goes on. Some rain also just fringing western parts during the early
00:55hours of Wednesday morning. But the talk will be about the temperatures in the west,
00:59something a little bit more comfortable, mid teens here. But out towards the east, these
01:04are where we're going to start the day on Wednesday, 20 or 21 degrees. So maybe a smidgen
01:09cooler than Tuesday morning, but still going to be a very uncomfortable one, I think, for
01:13many of us. So Wednesday morning starts off on a warm and bright note in the east. But
01:18as the day goes on, we will see cloud build in and that will start to trigger some thunderstorms,
01:23especially into the afternoon. A yellow thunderstorm is in force for parts of south-east England
01:28as we go through the course of the day. So overall, quite a lot of cloud around across
01:32many parts of England and Wales and southern Scotland. The best of the brightness probably
01:36across Scotland, maybe parts of Northern Ireland here too. And here, actually quite a comfortable
01:42day. Temperatures around the high teens, low 20s. But down towards the south-east, thankfully
01:48a little bit cooler than today, 28, 29, but still on the hot side really for the time
01:53of year. Going into the evening, thunderstorms will continue to rumble on down towards the
01:59south-east. So could see some localised disruption from these. But overall, a fairly quiet night
02:04to come in the west. But out towards the east, we will start to see this cloud begin to move
02:09in from the North Sea with a few spots of rain to come. Temperatures in the east, thankfully
02:14a little bit cooler than the night to come, but still going to be on the warm side. Houses
02:19will still be quite warm, so certainly I think take an advantage of opening your windows
02:23on Wednesday night. Just clear out some of that hot air as we go through the course of
02:28the night. Out towards the west, thankfully more comfortable here. Actually could get
02:33down towards the low double figures across Northern Ireland as we start Thursday morning.
02:39And a bit of a west-east split I think on Thursday. Best of the brightness will be across
02:44many western areas. Maybe the odd shower for western Scotland, but the main focus of
02:49the cloud will be across eastern Scotland, down into eastern England, into the Midlands
02:54and down towards the south-east where overall probably quite overcast skies with the odd
02:59spot of rain also possible. This will again help keep temperatures a little bit more suppressed.
03:04Still 25 or 26 in the south-east, but a little bit more typical of this time of year. Elsewhere,
03:11we're probably looking at high teens in the north, low 20s further south. If you want
