00:00Hello again. West is definitely best if you're after bright skies through this Friday. Across
00:06the east it's dull, it's dismal, it's pretty dank. Here's the satellite image showing this
00:11big stripe of cloud with outbreaks of rain. Clearer skies further west. Further west still
00:16we do have an area of low pressure that looks pretty nasty but that is not heading our way.
00:21A little ridge of high pressure and there's that weather front that's been with us for
00:25a couple of days and is not moving anywhere very quickly. It's going to continue to bring
00:30cloud and rain across north east England, down through into the east midlands, parts
00:35of east Anglia too and at times Aberdeenshire also. Further west, well we do have some showers
00:40it has to be said across Wales and south west England but for much of the west it's dry,
00:45it's bright and we do have quite a bit of sunshine. Temperatures though, well responding
00:50to a bit of sunshine we might squeak up to double figures. It's pretty chilly everywhere
00:54however if you are stuck under that cloud and rain, well 5-6 degrees Newcastle down
01:00towards east Yorkshire that's going to feel pretty bleak. Rain and drizzle will continue
01:05across parts of eastern England well into the evening, perhaps clearing away from the
01:09far north east of England, certainly ebbing away from eastern Scotland. Clear skies then
01:14for Scotland, Northern Ireland will allow a fairly extensive frost and frost too for
01:18parts of north west England and Wales where we keep the clearest skies. But with the cloud
01:23and the rain continuing over eastern England that will keep the temperatures a few degrees
01:27above freezing here. But elsewhere as I said we are likely to see a frost certainly in
01:31rural areas, even some freezing fog possible through Northern Ireland and Scotland. But
01:36generally here it's a cracking start. So what should be a super sunny Saturday, we'll see
01:40sunny skies for most of Wales, south west England, north west England too but for the
01:45midlands, particularly the east midlands, Lincolnshire, east Anglia and the south east
01:50it's grey, it's dank, it's rain and drizzle on and off for much of the day and again it's
01:55going to have a big impact on the temperatures. Feeling pretty cold if you're stuck under
01:59that thick cloud and persistent rain and drizzle. Temperatures only 4-5-6 degrees at best. Further
02:05west again with some sunshine we should squeak up to double figures in one or two places
02:10but even these numbers are still below average for the time of year and it stays pretty cold
02:15into Sunday. However the rain should at least start to fizzle out, still around on Friday
02:20on Saturday evening across eastern England for sure but it will fizzle out I suspect
02:24overnight just left with a few showers across parts of the east and moving into the south
02:29west as we head into Sunday because high pressure is moving in for the weekend. But it is going
02:36to allow an easterly wind to pick up across the south so that is going to make it feel
02:40really quite cold on Sunday. Temperatures even where we see some sunshine only single
02:45figures but add on that wind across the south and it feels more like 3 or 4 at the very
02:49best so it is going to be a cold feeling weekend for sure. Many places having a dry
02:54weekend and for some there will be plenty of sunshine around as well. More details as
02:59always if you follow us across social media.
