03 March - National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin.
Transcript
00:00Hello. A really slow-moving weather situation at the moment across the UK. So, for some,
00:06if you're stuck under the weather front, it's going to be dull and damp. But either side
00:10of this line of clouds, we do have something a little bit brighter, particularly for Northern
00:15Ireland and eastern parts of England. But say, under this weather front, it's really
00:19quite wet and isn't shifting too far. So, for much of Wales, particularly East Wales,
00:25Midlands, North West England, much of Southern and Central Scotland, it's dull and damp.
00:30Turning a bit drier for South West England, may cheer up a little bit in Pembrokeshire.
00:34Some sunny spells for Northern Ireland and the eastern parts of England as well. And
00:38it's here where we'll see the top temperatures, double digits, 13 as possible, across the
00:43south-east. Whereas, if you're stuck under that rainy zone, just single figures and feeling
00:48pretty bleak, I suspect, that rain will be heavy at times as well. Some brighter colours
00:52mixed in there. And it doesn't really shift too far through the night. It should start
00:57to pull away from Wales, so turning a bit drier here eventually. North West England
01:01too. But for eastern Scotland, North East England, we'll keep outbreaks of rain going
01:06right the way through the night. We'll keep a lot of clouds in most places, but some clear
01:10skies across the far west. So, for Northern Ireland, we will see a touch of frost here.
01:15Belfast may just stay above it. But that weather front, keeping the cloud, keeping the rain,
01:19but also keeping the temperatures up. But it's going to suppress the temperatures again
01:23through Friday. So, again, quite a dull, dismal day for Newcastle down to East Yorkshire and
01:30right up across Aberdeenshire as well. They rain on and off throughout. We'll see some
01:35patchy rain across East Anglia, the East Midlands as well. And we may at times see that rain
01:40come back across North West England into South West Scotland. But again, for the bulk of
01:44western Scotland, certainly the west coast, dry and bright. Northern Ireland, Wales, South
01:48West England, we'll see some sunny spells, but also the possibility of one or two scattered
01:53showers. Generally, a drier day across the West Midlands and here too, maybe a little
01:58bit of sunshine coming through at times. But stuck under that cloud, particularly with
02:01the rain, temperatures not really rising too far. Five, six, seven degrees at best for
02:06North East England, Eastern Scotland. That's, again, going to feel pretty cold. But some
02:10brightness further south. We'll again see temperatures up to double digits. That weather
02:15front kind of clings like a limpet to the east coast as we head through Friday night
02:20and into the weekend and may well linger for much of Saturday for the likes of Eastern
02:24Scotland and North East England. That weather front, as I say, just kind of wriggles around
02:29here. But high pressure is trying to build in across the country and eventually that
02:34weather front disappears. And as the high moves in, most of us will have a dry day on
02:39Sunday. But as the high also shifts in, it will introduce more of an easterly breeze,
02:43certainly for England and Wales, bringing a somewhat colder feel. We'll have a full
02:48weekend forecast for you by Thursday afternoon. So subscribe to our YouTube channels and you'll
02:53never miss a broadcast.
