00:00Hello, good morning, I'm Marco Pitania, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04We'll see a three way split weather wise across the UK today. Across the central slice of
00:08the UK, across Northern Ireland, into parts of South West Scotland and eventually the
00:12North of England and the North of Wales will be cloudy with the outbreaks of rain running
00:15in there from the North West. To the North and North East of that, across the bulk of
00:19Scotland, it's a case of sunshine and showers, quite a brisk North to North West in the wind.
00:23Whereas further south, across central and southern England, particularly down towards
00:26the South West, it stays fine. A gradual influx of cloud as we go through the day, but staying
00:30dry and certainly towards the South West, we'll hold on to a fair bit of sunshine.
00:34Wherever you are, those temperatures are struggling once again for the time of year, peaking towards
00:38the North at 12 to 14 Celsius, that's into the mids, locally upper 50s in Fahrenheit,
00:43and higher still towards the South and South East at 19 or 20 degrees, which is close to
00:47where they should be for the time of year. And given that sunshine lingering across some
00:51southern spots and with lighter winds too, it shouldn't feel too bad out and about here.
00:56As we go through the evening into the overnight period, those outbreaks of rain across Northern
00:59Ireland will slip further south eastwards, eventually reaching the whole of England and
01:03Wales by Monday morning. Some heavy bursts of rain developing in places here, whereas
01:07towards the North and North West, that rain gives way to clearer skies with a scattering
01:11of showers and quite a brisk North to North West in the wind too. Under the clear skies,
01:16it will turn quite chilly, you can even see a touch of frost across these Northern and
01:19North Western spots by Monday morning, temperatures locally in some rural areas down into low
01:23single figures, but holding up near double figures towards the South and South East with
01:27the cloud, the wind and all that rain around. As for Monday, well those outbreaks of rain
01:31across the South and South East will gradually slip away towards the South East of the UK,
01:35with skies brightening certainly into the afternoon on Monday. Always the brightest
01:39skies from the word go though towards the North and North West, coupled with quite a
01:42few showers, and that mixture of sunshine and showers should reach all parts of the
01:46UK heading into the afternoon on Monday. Still feeling quite cold in that North to
01:50North Westerly wind, especially towards the North and North West where the wind will be
01:53strongest, with temperatures up to 13 or 14 degrees, highs down towards the South at 17
01:58or 18 Celsius, which is a little bit below par for the time of year. That's pretty much
02:03it from me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Met Office Forecast by following us
02:06on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon, take care
02:11for now, bye bye.
