00:00Hello, I'm Marco Pitania, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.

00:03We're starting the new working week on a mostly fine note across the UK, plenty of sunshine

00:08around.

00:09We hold on to lots of fine weather out across eastern and southeastern areas right through

00:12the day, mostly fine and dry throughout here.

00:15But notice out towards the west, showers gathering, turning into more persistent outbreaks of

00:19rain working their way from south to north, pushing in across parts of Scotland too as

00:22we head into the afternoon.

00:24Quite blustery too with that rain moving in across the western areas, whereas towards

00:28the south-east with lighter winds and that sunshine, it will feel fairly warm I think

00:32during the course of the afternoon, temperatures peaking at 16 or 17 Celsius, 17 in London

00:37is 63 in Fahrenheit, and despite that, the rain and the wind towards the north-west not

00:41faring too badly in the range of 10 to 14 degrees.

00:45As we go through the evening and through the overnight period, we hold on to further outbreaks

00:48of rain moving in there across many northern and western spots, working their way from

00:52south to north.

00:53Some of that rain again on the heavy side, so it's the south-east of England holding

00:56on to the clearest skies, but wherever you are, despite the clearest skies, it's going

00:59to be quite a mild night, certainly compared to recent nights, and a frost-free night too,

01:04with temperatures generally in the range 7 to 10 degrees.

01:07As for Tuesday, well that east-west split holds firm with a further showery burst of

01:11rain working in across many western areas as we go through the day, again some of those

01:15outbreaks of rain will be quite heavy, accompanied by fairly brisk winds at times as well.

01:20Further east, it's a mostly fine day, notice one or two showers breaking out across the

01:23south-east as we head into the afternoon, but here the best of the sunshine is likely,

01:27lifting temperatures into the high teens celsius.
