00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Pitania.
00:04We'll see an east-west split weather-wise across the UK as we head through Sunday afternoon.
00:08It's the east, it will generally see the wettest conditions, some outbreaks of locally heavy rain here,
00:12coupled with quite a keen north-to-northwesterly wind, so feeling quite chilly too.
00:16Whereas out towards the west, and eventually across some southern spots, we'll see some sunshine peering through.
00:20But notice a good rash of showers as well, showers locally on the heavy side,
00:24particularly towards the south-west, and eventually across parts of Northern Ireland as well.
00:28With sunshine and with lighter winds out towards the west and across the south later, it shouldn't feel too bad
00:32out and about, with temperatures up to 12 to 14 Celsius. 14 there in the south-west is 57 in Fahrenheit.
00:36But feeling much cooler towards the north-east here,
00:40highs of only 7 or 8 Celsius, so feeling quite chilly with that wind, the cloud and that rain around too.
00:44As we head through the evening and during the overnight period, that persistent
00:48rain towards the north-east will gradually clear towards the northern isles, so staying quite wet
00:52across the far north-east of Scotland into the early hours of Monday.
00:56There will be some clear spells for a time, but showers working their way in from the west,
01:00becoming increasingly widespread out across western and north-western areas by Monday morning,
01:04and some of those showers also merging later to give some longer spells of rain.
01:08Under the clear spells, towards the north and east, we could see a local touch of frost,
01:12certainly towards the north-east there, with temperatures down close to freezing,
01:16but it's a mostly frost-free night overnight tonight. Into Monday, once again, we'll see an east-west split
01:20in the weather, but in difference to Sunday, it'll be the east and the south-east of the UK
01:24set to see the best of the dry and locally bright weather at times,
01:28whereas out towards the west, showers gathering, certainly quite heavy, quite organised
01:32at times, and also affecting northern areas as we head into the afternoon.
01:36It will be a warmer day, especially in that sunshine towards the south-east of the UK,
01:40highs during the afternoon of 16 or 17 Celsius, and even towards the north, despite the wet
01:44and showy conditions, highs here will be around 13 or 14 Celsius.
01:48As we go into the evening on Monday, we hold onto quite a showy picture towards the north
01:52and west, again the showers quite heavy, emerging at times to give some longer spells of rain,
01:56so it'll be the south-east of the UK holding onto the best of the clearer and drier conditions
02:00as we go through Monday night. That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can
