00:00Hello, good morning. I'm Mark O'Britannia. Here's your latest weather update from the

00:03Met Office. We'll see an east-west split in our weather across the UK during the day today.

00:08Outbreaks of rain working their way north across many eastern areas, some of that rain

00:11turning quite heavy at times. It could brighten up briefly towards the far south-east, but

00:15that will also send off some heavy locally thundery showers. And during the afternoon,

00:18the rain will reach the east of Scotland, whereas towards the west and eventually down

00:22across many southern parts of the UK, we'll see some brighter skies coupled with a scattering

00:26of showers. Once again, one or two of those showers, particularly out towards the west,

00:30could be on the heavy side. Temperatures are struggling once again for the time of year.

00:34Highs no better than 12 or 13 Celsius, perhaps locally 14 at best towards the south and south-east.

00:39That's 57 in Fahrenheit. But where we've got the wind and the rain towards the north-east,

00:44it will be quite a blustery day here. Temperatures no better than 8 or 9 Celsius.

00:48Into the evening and during the overnight period, those outbreaks of rain will gradually start to

00:52pull away towards the north-east, although affecting the far north-east of Scotland right

00:55through the night into the early hours of Monday. Elsewhere, notice some clearer spells developing

00:59for a time, but further showers will work in from the west, some of those showers merging

01:03to longer spells of rain later. And again, some of those showers could turn quite heavy by Monday

01:07morning. Under the clearer slots towards the east and north-east there, it will turn quite chilly,

01:12especially in rural spots where we could see a touch of frost by Monday morning,

01:15but town and city temperatures generally holding up in the range 3 to 7 Celsius.

01:20As for Monday, well once again there'll be an east-west split in our weather,

01:23but this time it will be the east and south-east seeing the best of the conditions.

01:27Here, plenty of bright weather around. Whereas out towards the north and west, lots of showers

01:31moving in, and again some of those showers merging to give some longer spells of rain at times.

01:35Although notice it will be a milder day than it's been in recent days. Highs towards the north and

01:39north-west of 12 to 14 Celsius, up to 15 or 16 towards the south-east. 16 is 61 in Fahrenheit.
