00:00Hello, I'm Mark O'Britannia, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Low pressure is set to dominate the weather across the UK during the week ahead, so we
00:07hold on to pretty unsettled conditions, spells of wind and rain at times. Storm Kathleen
00:11is now moving off the scene towards the north and north-east of the UK, but notice low pressure
00:15once again gathering towards the south-west and that will push further spells of wind
00:18and rain across all parts over the next few days.
00:21We'll hold on to blustery weather towards the north-west of Scotland right through this
00:24evening, a warning in force here until midnight. Coupled with quite a lot of showers here,
00:28they'll gradually start to ease during the overnight period. We'll see some clear spells
00:32at times. Whereas across England and Wales, some clear spells towards the south-east for
00:35a while, but notice outbreaks of rain gathering there towards the west, certainly across parts
00:39of Wales into the early hours of Monday, some quite heavy bursts here by Monday morning
00:43itself.
00:44Under the clear spells towards the north-east, temperatures dipping down to around about
00:474 or 5 degrees, so a fairly chilly end to the night here. Whereas towards the south
00:51with the cloud, wind and rain pushing in from the south and south-west, temperatures will
00:54start to rise and here we'll see lows of around about 9 or 10 degrees.
00:59As for Monday, well there will again be some bright weather across central and south-eastern
01:02parts of England for a while, during the morning at least, because notice further showery bursts
01:06of rain moving up from the south and south-west, reaching much of England and Wales as we go
01:10through the day, turning quite heavy in fact in some areas into the afternoon. Northern
01:15Ireland should see some bright weather for the time of the morning, before rain starts
01:18to move up from the south into the afternoon. And much of Scotland is getting away with
01:21a fine day, here there will be plenty of sunshine, just a bit of patchy rain across
01:24the far south there into the afternoon.
01:27Temperatures not faring too badly across the north there, given the sunshine and the fairly
01:30gentle winds. Highs of 12 Celsius should feel fairly pleasant out and about. Ultimate highs
01:36though of 16 or 17 degrees towards the south and south-east, but here with the wind and
01:39the rain around, not feeling quite as warm.
01:42As for Tuesday, well low pressure will continue to dominate, wind and rain warnings in force
01:47across many parts of the UK. The wettest weather generally up towards the south and east of
01:50Scotland, the windiest conditions generally down towards the west and south-west of the
01:54UK, but some of that rain generally will be quite heavy in nature. And wherever you are,
01:58although temperatures not doing too badly, it will be a little bit cooler than in recent
02:02days, peaking at around 10 or 11 degrees towards the north, highs of 12 or 13 degrees towards
02:06the south-east.
02:07That's pretty much it from me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:11by following us on social media. I'll see you soon, take care for now, bye bye.
