00:00Hello, I'm Marco Britannia. Here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04We'll see plenty of fine, settled weather across the UK over the next few days. High
00:07pressure generally dominating, sitting towards the north and north-east of the UK, but notice
00:11fairly tightly packed isobars indicating a fairly brisk east to north easterly breeze,
00:15especially across southern parts of the UK, and that will take the edge off the temperatures.
00:20The easterly breeze also feeding in a few showers across the east of England, up across
00:23eastern parts of Scotland as we head into the afternoon. One or two of those showers
00:27could turn a bit wintry across the North York Moors, and out towards the north and
00:30west it's a drier picture, plenty of sunshine around but quite chilly for the time of year
00:34once again, despite that sunshine temperature struggling to get above freezing across the
00:37high ground of Scotland. Down towards the south, possibly peaking at 5, 6, locally 7
00:41Celsius, adding on the effect of the wind and feeling closer to freezing. As we head
00:45into the evening and during the overnight period, those showers across the north of
00:49England will start to feed their way westwards, reaching Irish sea areas by the early hours
00:53of Monday. Meanwhile, some showers developing down towards the far south-east of England
00:57could give one or two problems on Monday morning, particularly during the rush hour, a few wintry
01:01showers around, especially over the north for Downs, and also one or two icy patches
01:04in places as well. Out towards the north and west though, a drier picture, lots of clear
01:08weather around, some frost and fog forming and temperatures widely dipping down to, if
01:12not below freezing, so quite a frosty start to Monday morning. The frost and fog in the
01:18north and west will tend to lift as we go through the morning tomorrow, so most parts
01:21here seeing plenty in the way of sunshine once again, whereas those showers down towards
01:25the south-east could give a tricky commute for some across the south-east of England,
01:29some icy patches in places, a bit of a rain-sleet-snow mix in some areas here too, and those showers
01:34gradually work their way westwards across southern counties of England as we go through
01:38the day, turning more and more to rain as we go into the afternoon. Elsewhere though,
01:42staying largely fine, lots of sunshine around, but once again, quite chilly, temperatures
01:46no better than 4 or 5 Celsius, possibly peaking at locally 6 down towards the far south-west
01:50but generally 4 or 5 degrees. Add on the effect of that eastern north-easterly wind and feeling
01:54colder still, in fact feeling sub-zero in a few spots down towards the south, minus
01:581 or minus 2 Celsius, so you'll certainly need to wrap up warm if you're heading out
02:02and about tomorrow. As for Tuesday, well, more in the way of sunshine is expected, certainly
02:07across the south of the UK, and temperatures though struggling still for the time of year.
02:11That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Met Office Forecast

02:19soon, bye bye.
