00:00Hello, I'm Marco Britannia, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:03We've seen lots of fine weather across the UK to start the weekend and into Sunday we
00:07hold on to plenty of fine weather too.
00:09But high pressure will start to pull away out into the Atlantic as we head into the
00:12new working week.
00:13That will allow north-to-northwesterly winds to become established, introducing cooler
00:17air from the north and also more unsettled conditions with rain or showers in most places
00:21during the week ahead.
00:22Back to the D10 now for this evening and through the overnight period.
00:26Much of the cloud across the south of the UK will tend to melt away, giving plenty of
00:30clear weather as we head into the overnight period.
00:32One or two mist or fog patches forming and notice by the end of the night some outbreaks
00:36of rain just heading into the far north-west of the UK.
00:40Temperature wise, well in towns and cities they hold up quite well, close to double figures
00:43in fact in many areas, although in some rural spots temperatures will dip down to the low
00:47single figures, down to around 2 or 3 Celsius, perhaps low enough for a touch of frost in
00:51one or two very well sheltered spots by Sunday morning.
00:55As for Sunday itself, well any mist will tend to clear, leaving lots of fine weather across
00:59the bulk of the UK once again.
01:00Notice a bit of patchy low cloud there to start the day, that will tend to burn away
01:04and then as I say, lots of sunshine around, pretty much unbroken sunshine in fact in places
01:08as we head into the afternoon, whereas towards the north and north-west, outbreaks of rain
01:11across the west and north-west of Scotland will gradually edge away south-eastwards across
01:15Northern Ireland into the rest of mainland Scotland as we head into the afternoon.
01:20Temperatures still doing quite well, particularly in the south and south-east, here we can see
01:23highs of 23 or 24 Celsius, that's into the mid-70s in Fahrenheit, always a bit cooler
01:28towards the north-west though given the cloud, an increase in breeze and those outbreaks
01:32of rain too.
01:34As we head into the evening, those outbreaks of rain will start to push south-eastwards
01:37across Scotland and on Monday a band of rain will continue its journey south-eastwards
01:42into parts of England and Wales, to the south-east of that it's brighter with one or two light
01:46showers and always much sunnier conditions developing behind that rain band across the
01:50bulk of Scotland.
01:51Here though it all starts to turn cooler as fresher westerly winds develop but we hold
01:55on to pretty good temperatures down towards the south and south-east, highs of 20 Celsius
01:59there in London is 68 in Fahrenheit.
02:03That's pretty much it for me but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:06by following us on social media and also by subscribing to our YouTube channel.
02:10I'll see you soon, take care for now, bye bye.
