00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. We saw lots of showers
00:03across the UK on Saturday but things look quieter and much brighter across the UK as
00:08we head into Sunday. Low pressures moving off the scene now out towards the east, a
00:12small ridge of high pressure moving in from the west promising a brighter day on Sunday
00:15but notice further areas of low pressure moving in from the south-west as we head into the
00:19new working week, maintaining the generally unsettled theme.
00:23So looking at things in more detail now for this evening and during the overnight period,
00:27still lots of showers moving down from the north and north-west through the first part
00:30of the night, those showers wintry across the hills in Scotland but as we go into the
00:33early hours of Sunday, showers become more focused towards the north and west. Elsewhere,
00:38some clearer spells developing and the hill will turn quite chilly by the morning on Sunday.
00:42You can even see a touch of frost across the rural spots, temperatures into low single
00:46figures. As we head out towards the west, those temperatures will start to climb up
00:49to around 6C, a full T3 in Fahrenheit across Belfast by Sunday morning.
00:54As for Sunday itself then, well much more in the way of brighter weather around then
00:58on Saturday, still one or two showers pushing down from the north and north-west, particularly
01:01across the north and west of Scotland. Here there could still be wintry in nature across
01:05the hills, whereas elsewhere across the UK, showers much more isolated, more in the way
01:10of sunshine and as I say, lighter winds too. With lighter winds and an extra bit of sunshine,
01:15it should start to feel that bit warmer. Temperatures peaking at 12 or 13C, 13C there in London,
01:2055C in Fahrenheit. Temperatures near average towards the north and north-west at 8-11C.
01:27Into Sunday evening, outbreaks of rain push in across western spots and they'll push further
01:31inland across other western parts of the UK by Monday morning. A touch of frost out towards
01:35the east, temperatures into low single figures, but out towards the west those temperatures
01:39rising to 6C, 43C in Fahrenheit across Belfast, for example, as that cloud wind of rain comes
01:44in. As for Monday itself, we'll see an east-west split in the weather across the UK. Outbreaks
01:49of rain out towards the west at times, some of that rain quite heavy, accompanied by blustery
01:54winds, much brighter though towards the north and east. And here we'll see temperatures
01:57climbing into double figures in the sunshine, whereas out towards the west, feeling much
02:01cooler with that wind and rain around. That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can
