00:00Hello, good morning, I'm Mark O'Britannia, here's your latest weather update from the
00:03Met Office. We've seen plenty of fine weather across the bulk of the UK through the weekend,
00:07but things are turning more changeable now. We're seeing outbreaks of rain moving in from
00:10the north, high pressures moving out towards the west of the UK, allowing more of a north
00:13to north-westerly air stream to become established. Weather fronts also pushing down from the
00:17north at times during the week ahead, and it's those that will bring some outbreaks
00:20of rain at times.
00:21Back to the detail now for today, and we've got a slow-moving band of patchy rain affecting
00:25parts of Northern Ireland, South West Scotland, eventually moving south into parts of Northern
00:29England as we head through the afternoon today. To the south of that, mostly dry but
00:33certainly more cloud around than we saw through the weekend, generally the best of the brightness
00:37still developing down towards the south and south-west of the UK, whereas the sunniest
00:42skies overall are developing behind that front across central parts of Scotland, but notice
00:46quite a few showers up towards the far north and north-west of Scotland, packing in there
00:50on quite a brisk westerly breeze.
00:53Temperatures are generally cooler than they were over the weekend, but we're still peaking
00:55at 21 or 22 degrees down towards the south, that's into the low 70s in Fahrenheit, and
01:00still up to 19 across the east of Scotland, 19 there in Aberdeen is 66 in Fahrenheit.
01:05As we go through the evening on Monday, that band of rain will continue to slip its way
01:09southwards, becoming very, very weak though, just a legacy of cloud across parts of England
01:13and Wales as we head into the overnight period. One or two clear spells also developing in
01:17places here. Notice towards the north we've got some clear spells for a time, but by Tuesday
01:21morning further outbreaks of rain started to move in from the west, so the heavy outbreaks
01:25of rain are developing across parts of Northern Ireland by Tuesday morning itself. Notice
01:29too as that rain comes in, also turning quite blustery, particularly towards the north and
01:33west of Scotland. With the cloud, the breeze and those outbreaks of rain moving into the
01:37north-west, it's a generally mild night on Monday night. By Tuesday morning, lows over
01:42around about 10 to 14 Celsius.
01:44As for Tuesday itself, well, becoming very unsettled across the north and north-west
01:47of the UK. Outbreaks of rain gradually pushing their way south-eastwards across Scotland
01:51and Northern Ireland, some of the rain turning quite heavy at times. Towards the south and
01:55south-east, brighter, certainly during the morning, some cloud pushing in through the
01:58afternoon and some outbreaks of rain reaching Wales and the north of England there into
02:02the afternoon itself. Whereas towards the north, once the rain clears through, a much
02:05brighter picture, but plenty of blustery showers and quite a keen north-to-northwesterly wind
02:10taking the edge off the temperatures here, no better than 11 to 15 Celsius, but still
02:14up to 19, 20, locally even 21 degrees towards the south-east, giving a bit of sunshine.
02:19That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:22by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon,
02:27take care, bye bye.
