00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. We're seeing quieter weather
00:03across the UK today than on Saturday, more on the way of sunshine around and lighter
00:06winds too. But things will be turning more unsettled again during the week ahead. A little
00:10ridge of high pressure today moving off the scene, then a low pressure coming back in
00:13from the south-west and this low pressure system will then dominate things through Monday
00:18into the start of the coming working week.
00:20So back to detail now for the rest of today. I'd say more on the way of sunshine around,
00:23still a few showers feeding down from the north and north-west. Those are a little bit
00:27wintry in nature across some higher ground in Scotland and notice rain discovering out
00:31across the far west of the UK there by the very end of the afternoon. In the sunshine
00:35though with lighter winds, it should generally feel more pleasant out and about. Then on
00:38Saturday, temperatures climbing to around about 12 or 13 Celsius down towards the south-east,
00:42that's the mid-50s in Fahrenheit, a little bit cooler at 8 to 11 degrees towards the
00:47north of the UK.
00:48As we go into the evening and during the overnight period, it will stay fine across many northern
00:53and eastern areas, any showers tending to fade, there will be lots of clear weather
00:56around. Turning chilly here though with a touch of frost by Monday morning. We're out
01:00towards the west and south-west, rain is gathering so it will start to turn wet and windy across
01:04northern islands, parts of Wales and the south-west of England by Monday morning. Albeit here
01:08accompanied by a rise in temperature, with temperatures by the morning 6 Celsius in Belfast,
01:137 down in Plymouth there. But notice as I say, towards the north and east, it will be
01:17quite chilly with a touch of frost in places.
01:20Into Monday then, we'll see a bit of an east-west split in our weather. Many northern and eastern
01:23areas certainly starting fine with some sunshine around. A few wintry showers towards the far
01:28north-east and rain gathering out towards the west and south-west, turning very heavy
01:32across the south-west of England and starting to turn to snow as it meets colder air across
01:36parts of Scotland, particularly above about 200 or 300 metres, particularly there during
01:40the afternoon and evening, with some heavy snow falling here overnight and some heavy
01:43rain developing at lower levels too.
01:46In the sunshine towards the south-east, we see highs of 12 Celsius, that's 54 in Fahrenheit,
01:51so close to the seasonal average, with towards the north and east feeling colder, especially
01:55in that rain, no better than 5 or 6 Celsius here.
01:59That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Met Office Forecast
02:02by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon,
02:07take care, bye bye.
