00:00Hello, I'm Marco Britannia, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:03I'm afraid things are set to turn unsettled once again with the wires across the UK during
00:07the week ahead, all of us seeing further spells of wind and rain at times.
00:10It's certainly turning wet and windy from the south-west today, some particularly heavy
00:13rain developing down across south-west England at times, and the far north and east holding
00:18on to some brightness and up towards the north-east a few wintry showers still.
00:22As that rain pushes in across Scotland into colder air, it could well start to turn to
00:26snow, particularly across hills north of the Central Belt later on this afternoon.
00:30In the sunshine in the south-east, temperatures will peak at 11 or 12 Celsius, close to the
00:34seasonal average, but a cold day in the north, particularly where that rain and snow moves
00:38in during the afternoon, temperatures here no better than 5 or 6 degrees.
00:43As we go into the evening and during the overnight period, outbreaks of rain and snow will really
00:46settle in across parts of Scotland, you could see up to 2 inches of rain by Tuesday morning
00:50across parts of central and north-east Scotland, and up to 20 centimetres of snow or so across
00:56the hills above about 300 metres. A warning comes into effect between midnight and 12
01:00midday tomorrow.
01:02As for the southern parts of the UK, here there will be some clear spells, but also
01:06a fair few showers at times, and we could see a touch of frost by the morning, temperatures
01:10dipping down to, certainly towards the north there, to 0 to 2 degrees, locally down to
01:16low single figures across more southern areas.
01:18As for Tuesday itself, with a very unsettled morning to come across northern parts of the
01:22UK, here there will be further rain and snow at times, snow especially on the hills, but
01:26locally to lower levels, whereas down towards the south and south-east, there will be some
01:30bright spells, but also showers, or longer spells of rain if we're too far away, and
01:34once again those temperatures are struggling, 11 or 12 at best in the south, nearer 4 or
01:395 degrees towards the north of the UK.
01:41That's pretty much it from me, but you can keep tuned to The Meteorologist's forecast

01:49take care, bye bye.
