00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Mark O'Britannia.
00:04We're set to hold onto rather unsettled weather across the UK during the week ahead, low pressure
00:07dominating bringing further spells of wind and rain at times. Looking at things in more
00:12detail for today and with some brightness across the south and southeast of the UK during
00:16the morning, but notice an increasing chance of showery bursts of rain working their way
00:19in from the south across many parts of England and Wales as we go through into the afternoon.
00:23Some of those bursts of rain turning quite heavy at times later. Northern Ireland should
00:27get off to a fine start, but here we'll see some rain arriving during the afternoon, some
00:31rain also pushing into the far south of Scotland. But on the whole, it's Scotland that's set
00:34to see the best of the dry and quite sunny weather at times with fairly light winds compared
00:39to recent days too. The sunshine will lift temperatures to around about 11 or 12 degrees
00:43across Scotland, 12 is 54 in Fahrenheit, which shouldn't feel too bad out and about given
00:47those lighter winds. But down towards the south and southeast, although temperatures
00:51will peak at 15 to 17 degrees, pretty warm in fact for the time of year and feeling quite
00:55humid. With that cloud, wind and rain around, it's set to feel cooler than those temperatures
00:59suggest. As we go into the evening and during the overnight period, we'll hold on to quite
01:04an unsettled picture across England and Wales. Further showery bursts of rain developing,
01:09some of that rain turning quite heavy. The southeast should see some clear spells for
01:11a time, but the rain will work its way north into parts of Scotland, with Northern Ireland
01:15then seeing some clear spells into the early hours. Turning pretty windy, particularly
01:19out towards the west and near to the Channel coast there, we could well see some gales
01:22at times and the wettest weather by the morning generally reserved for the south and east
01:26of Scotland. Temperatures, given that very unsettled weather, will hold up fairly well
01:30across the UK. We'll see lows by Tuesday morning of around about 6 to 8, Celsius 8 there in
01:36London is 46 in Fahrenheit. Tuesday then will again be dominated by low pressure, pretty
01:42much sitting slap bang across the UK, so I think all areas will see some rain at times.
01:46Again, some of that rain quite heavy, particularly towards the south and east of Scotland, we
01:49could see one or two inches of rain here, giving some flooding in places and the windiest
01:53conditions generally still reserved for the west and south of England and parts of Wales.
01:58Still some gales developing at times here. Temperatures will generally be a bit cooler
02:02in recent days, peaking at 8 to 11 Celsius in the north, 12 or 13 down towards the southeast,
02:07which is still close to the seasonal average. Well, that's pretty much it for me, but of
02:11course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast by following us on social media and
02:15subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon. Bye bye for now.
