00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm afraid we hold on
00:04to unsettled weather across the UK over the next few days, all down to low pressure dominating
00:08our conditions. It's a fairly deep area of low pressure situated across the UK at the
00:12moment that will gradually start to pull away towards the east over the next couple of days.
00:15But we'll then see a pretty chilly north to north-westerly airstream become established,
00:19holding on to showers in that airstream too. Back to this afternoon though, we've got a
00:23slow-moving band of rain across the central slice of the UK. In fact, we have a weather
00:27warning out throughout the day for parts of northern England and the north of Wales.
00:3020 to 30 millimetres of rain quite widely here. Locally, 50 to 70 across some of the hills could
00:35give some flooding problems through the day today. Towards the south-east, it's slightly warmer with
00:39some sunshine but a scattering of showers too. Temperatures peaking at 22 or 23 Celsius. 23 in
00:45London is 73 in Fahrenheit. Cooler, fresher but again brighter towards the north and north-west
00:50but still with a few showers here. Top temperatures towards the north 18 or 19 degrees. As we go
00:55through the evening and into the overnight period, the rain warning across the central
00:59slice of the UK continues until midnight. But notice that rain starts to slip its way south
01:03as we go through the overnight period, reaching the Midlands and Wales as we go through the early
01:07hours of Monday. Again, a few heavy bursts in places. Towards the south and south-east,
01:11it's clearer with a few showers and quite warm. Temperatures here 15 or 16 degrees but turning
01:16fresher towards the north and north-west. Clearer skies, a few showers too and temperatures here
01:21locally dipping into single figures. As for Monday itself, it's the south of the UK. We'll
01:26see the wettest of the weather on Monday. Some heavy bursts of rain in places. The far south-east
01:30could just brighten up for a time, allowing a scattering of heavy showers to break out here.
01:35And towards the north and north-west as we go through the day, the north and north-westerly
01:38air stream pushing fresher air in across many parts towards the end of the day. Brighter skies
01:42but still with a few showers towards the north and north-west. And again, temperatures really
01:46struggling from the time of year. No better than the mid-teens towards the north, 15 or 16 degrees.
01:51Possibly peaking at 19 or 20 degrees towards the south and south-east.
01:55As for Tuesday, it's a case of sunshine and showers. Most of the showers in the south-east
01:59will be during the morning, whereas towards the north-west, showers packing in throughout the day
02:03in quite a keen north-westerly breeze. So the best of the sunshine, generally speaking,
02:06across central south-western parts of the UK and locally across parts of Northern Ireland too.
02:11Temperatures are still struggling for the time of year. No better than 16, 17, perhaps 18 degrees
02:16across parts of Northern Ireland and towards the south and south-east, a high of 19 or 20 degrees.
02:2120 is 68 in Fahrenheit. That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the
02:26Met Office forecast by following us on social media. I'll see you soon. Take care, bye-bye for now.
