00:00Hi there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. We hold on to unsettled
00:04weather across the UK during the week ahead. That's all down to low pressure dominating.
00:08In fact, we have a fairly deep area of low pressure just tracking away towards the east
00:11of the UK at the moment, allowing a cool north-westerly breeze to become established. Whereas out
00:16towards the north-west notice an ex-weather system gathering though, and that will push
00:19further rain in across all parts as we go through the middle part of the coming week.
00:23So looking at things in more detail for the evening and through the overnight period,
00:26we'll see outbreaks of rain across the central slice of the UK. We have a weather warning
00:29in force across the north of England, across parts of Wales. We could see up to 70mm in
00:34total across some areas, giving some flooding issues. Down towards the far south-east it
00:38stays clearer with some showers, but that rain band will work its way south into the
00:41Midlands, into other parts of Wales into the early hours of Monday. Whereas towards the
00:45north and north-west, a clearer picture, again with a scattering of showers, and turning
00:49quite chilly in some rural spots towards the north. Lows here of around about 7 to 9 degrees,
00:54whereas down towards the south and south-east 15 or 16, so a fairly warm night to come here.
00:59As for Monday, well it's a fairly wet picture across the south and south-east, certainly
01:02through the morning, some further heavy rain to come at times. Gradually turning more showery
01:06though, and all the while brighter skies moving in from the north and north-west. So as we
01:10head into the afternoon on Monday, it's a generally brighter picture, plenty of sunny
01:13spells around, still some showers too yes, but particularly towards the north-west of
01:17the UK, feeding in another north-westerly breeze. Temperatures stay disappointing, peaking
01:22in the mid to locally upper teens towards the north, a high down towards the south of
01:2519 or 20 degrees, 20 is 68 in Fahrenheit. Through the evening on Monday, the showers
01:31will continue to feed in towards the north and north-west of the UK, still some heavy
01:35ones across the north-west of Scotland there, whereas down towards the south and south-east,
01:38those showers tend to ease, so we'll see more of the way of clear spells developing, and
01:42turning a little bit chilly in some rural spots, but particularly towards the north,
01:45some rural spots here dipping down again into single figures. As for Tuesday itself, well
01:50it's a day of sunshine and showers across the UK. The showers tended to be most focused
01:54towards the north and north-west, still some heavy ones around, still feeding in a north-westerly
01:58breeze, and still generally feeling quite chilly across the UK, with temperatures peaking
02:02in the mid to upper teens towards the north and north-west, whereas down towards the south
02:06and south-east, we'll see a high of around 19 or 20 degrees, the upper 60s in Fahrenheit.
02:12That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:15by following us on social media. I'll see you soon, take care for now, bye bye.
