25 July - National weather forecast presented by Marco Petagna
Transcript
00:00Hello, whilst the south-east of the UK saw lots of hot sunshine on Sunday, the north-west
00:04was much more unsettled with some outbreaks of locally quite heavy and thundery rain.
00:09The rain was all courtesy of an area with low pressure that's starting to pull away
00:12to the east of the UK over the next couple of days, this will allow a ridge of high pressure
00:16to build in from the west, the ice abyses open out so the winds turn lighter and the
00:20weather becomes generally more settled too.
00:23Heading through this evening, the heavy rain across western Scotland will transfer north
00:26to become more confined across the north of Scotland overnight, again some heavy bursts
00:30around, elsewhere clear spells and showers, quite breezy but quite warm with temperatures
00:34holding up in the mid to high teens.
00:37As we head into Monday, we'll see a mixture of sunshine and showers across the UK, even
00:42some showers moving into the south-east as we go through the day, but the heaviest, most
00:46widespread showers likely to affect the south-east of Scotland and north-eastern parts of England,
00:51here they could turn heavy and thundery into the afternoon.
00:53A fresher day with highs of 25 celsius towards the south-east, that's 77 in Fahrenheit.
00:59Heading through the last part of the afternoon into the evening on Monday, those showers
01:03start to fade from the west, and that's all courtesy of that ridge of high pressure starting
01:06to build in, winds easing and more and more clear spells around.
01:11That's pretty much it from me for now, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office
01:14forecast by following us on social media.
01:17I'll see you soon, bye bye for now.
