18 April - National weather forecast, presented by Marco Petagna
Transcript
00:00Hello, we saw plenty of fine weather across the UK on Easter Day.
00:04High pressure is starting to slip away to the east now though,
00:07and that will allow weak weather fronts to start pushing eastwards across the UK
00:11over the next 24 hours or so, bringing some patchy rain.
00:14And during the week ahead, although a lot of fine weather is expected,
00:16we will start to see an easterly breeze developing,
00:19and this will take the edge off the temperature,
00:21particularly as we get to Thursday and Friday.
00:23Back to tonight now though, and there will be clear spells for a while
00:26across the east and northeast of the UK,
00:28but outbreaks of rain out towards the west will gradually push eastwards,
00:31with clearer skies developing across the west and southwest later,
00:35and mostly frost-free night too across the UK.
00:38Into Easter Monday now though, and plenty of dry and bright weather is expected,
00:43particularly towards the south and east,
00:45but notice towards the north and west a good scattering of showers are likely,
00:48one or two of those on the heavy side,
00:50and quite blustery towards the northwest too, with quite keen winds here.
00:54Temperatures generally a little bit lower than in recent days,
00:56although still reaching 18C in the southeast, and that's a respectable 64F.
01:02Into the evening there will be further showers towards the north and west of the UK,
01:06with the best of the clear spells towards the east and southeast.
01:09That's pretty much it from me for now,
01:11but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
01:13by following us on social media.
01:15Take care for now, bye bye.
