00:00Hello, good morning. I'm Marco Petania. Here's your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04We're starting the day on a rather murky note, particularly across central and eastern parts
00:08of England. Some fairly dense fog patches here, slowly clearing through the morning.
00:12Some heavy rains throughout the day across eastern parts of Scotland. In fact, we have
00:15a rainfall warning in force here right through until midday on Sunday. Elsewhere, that fog
00:19lifting though to give some sunshine, but notice plenty of showers moving in from the
00:22south and west. Summer is quite heavy, even thundery in nature in places. In the sunniest
00:27slots, not doing too badly. Temperatures up to 14, 15, possibly locally 16 Celsius
00:31down towards the south. A little bit fresher towards the north and those temperatures generally
00:35dipping whenever those showers move through. As we head into the evening and during the
00:39overnight period, we'll hold on to further heavy bursts of rain across the east of Scotland.
00:43Remember that rainfall warning remaining in force throughout into Saturday. And down towards
00:47the south and west, it's a case of clearer spells, but plenty of showers still wrapping
00:51in from the south and west. And another rainfall warning coming into force there towards the
00:56south east of England as we head into the early hours of Saturday. Temperatures again,
01:00not too bad for the time of year. Generally frost free as we head into Saturday morning.
01:04If there is any frost around, it's likely across the highest ground in Scotland. As
01:07for Saturday, well it's another day of sunshine and showers for the bulk of the UK. Again,
01:11some heavy thundery downpours in places, with more persistent rain still packing in there
01:16across the east of Scotland. In the sunshine between the showers towards southern and western
01:20spots, temperatures peaking at around about 14, possibly locally even 15 Celsius. That's
01:24into the mid, locally upper 50s in Fahrenheit. A bit cooler towards the north and north east
01:28of the UK, nearer 9 or 10 degrees here. That's pretty much it from me, but of course you
01:33can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast by following us on social media. I'll see
01:37you soon. Take care for now. Bye bye.
