30 September - National weather forecast presented by Marco Petagna
Transcript
00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. We're set to see some quite
00:03unsettled weather across the UK over the next few days. Most of us are seeing some rain
00:07at times, fairly blustery winds too, certainly towards the north and north-west. Low pressure
00:11anchored towards the north-west of the UK, feeding bands of rain in from the south-west.
00:15Notice too though, with the orange and yellow colours there indicating fairly warm temperatures,
00:19temperatures will be a little bit above average for a while at least before the winds swing
00:22westerly coming in off the Atlantic through Tuesday and Wednesday next week, introducing
00:26slightly fresher conditions.
00:29Back to this evening and during the overnight period now, and outbreaks of rain weren't
00:31the way in from the south-west across most parts of the UK, something that was fairly
00:35hefty, becoming mainly confined towards the north-east of Scotland by the early hours
00:38and also a slow moving band of rain affecting parts of Wales, the Midlands and parts of
00:43northern England too. In the clearest skies towards the east-south and south-east, temperatures
00:46hold up pretty well actually, no lower than 16 or 17 Celsius in places, 17 down towards
00:52the south-west there is 63 in Fahrenheit. Slightly fresher towards the north and north-west
00:57but here we'll see some clearer skies with one or two showers around too.
01:01As for Sunday, well it's a three-way split weather-wise across the UK. A band of rain,
01:05quite a slow moving band of rain there, continuous to affect parts of Wales, the north of England
01:09and at times pushing into the far south-west of England. Some of the rain quite heavy during
01:13the morning but tended to weaken as we head into the afternoon. To the south-east of that,
01:17across the south-east of England, it's a fine day once again, plenty of sunshine and here
01:21temperatures really do rocket, climbing to 23 or 24 Celsius, that's into the mid-70s
01:26in Fahrenheit. A bit fresher towards the north and north-west but even so, 17 or 18
01:30degrees is pretty good for the time of year for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Here we'll
01:34see sunshine and one or two showers, showers mainly focused towards the north and west
01:38of the country.
01:40As we go into Monday, once again it's a case of watching this band of rain across the central
01:43slice of the UK. Some of that rain tended to pep up at times as we go through the day
01:47on Monday, turning quite heavy across parts of Wales, the Midlands and at times into the
01:51north of England, possibly once again towards the far south-west of England as well. Towards
01:55the south-east, a brighter picture, a scattering of showers, one or two of those on the heavy
01:59side, whereas towards the north and north-west, more than where there's sunshine but again
02:03a few showers around, quite a blustery wind towards the north and north-west of Scotland
02:07and here feeling quite fresh at 15 or 16 degrees but holding on to warmth towards the south
02:11and south-east with 20 or 21 Celsius. 21 in London is 70 in Fahrenheit.
02:17That's pretty much it for me but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:20by following us on social media. I'll see you soon, take care, bye bye.
