00:04never miss a forecast.
00:06There's plenty going on with the weather at the moment.
00:09Low pressure up to the northeast and others
00:11out in the Atlantic squeezing together
00:14to bring down the northerly air.
00:16That's why it's turned that much chillier
00:19and will continue to feel very fresh throughout Tuesday.
00:22And those northerly winds will continue
00:24to bring showers down as well.
00:26So across northern Scotland into north and west Wales,
00:30parts of Northern Ireland as well.
00:31The odd one grazing eastern England,
00:33especially for north Norfolk.
00:35But much of eastern England, I suspect,
00:37will be dry for much of the night.
00:39Now, we've got cold air in place at the time of year
00:42where nights are now longer than the day.
00:44So it is going to turn quite cold overnight.
00:46But there's enough of a breeze which
00:48mixes the air up to stop the temperatures
00:50from dipping too low.
00:51Some pockets of frost are possible,
00:53but mostly will stay a few degrees above freezing.
00:56Nevertheless, it will still feel pretty chilly
00:58with that breeze continuing to blow on Tuesday.
01:01Generally, a fine start for much of Yorkshire down to Kent.
01:05Elsewhere, a mixture of some sunshine but also more showers.
01:09And it looks like it could be quite a wet day for parts
01:11of northwest England, Liverpool, Manchester.
01:14Plenty of showers here.
01:15And those showers at times will feed down to the Midlands.
01:18By the afternoon, we could see one or two
01:20developing across East Anglia and the southeast.
01:22Always showers keeping going in northern Scotland,
01:25but sheltered through the central belt
01:28and across southern Scotland.
01:29So not too many showers here.
01:31Same goes for Northern Ireland.
01:32Some sunny spells in the south.
01:34In the far southwest, though, we are
01:36looking at clouds spilling in for Devon, Cornwall,
01:38Pembrokeshire, and a bit of rain likely,
01:40certainly for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
01:42come Tuesday afternoon.
01:44Temperature-wise, well, pretty chilly first thing
01:47and struggling up into the low teens at best for most.
01:51A little higher in the southwest,
01:52but not feeling any warmer here with a brisk wind
01:55and the cloud and the rain.
01:56In fact, that wind, again, is bringing
01:59a fairly significant wind chill on some of these coasts,
02:01North Wales, western parts of Scotland,
02:03and northern Scotland, where the showers will continue
02:06to be heavy through Tuesday and continue through Tuesday night
02:10as well.
02:10The wind's subtly shifting as we head into Wednesday.
02:13Cloud and rain in the southwest should start to ebb away.
02:16And again, a chilly but bright start
02:19on the spine of the country to Wednesday.
02:21Quite a bit of sunshine here.
02:22Should be a brighter day for northwest England as well.
02:25Not as many showers for west Wales and southwest England,
02:28although still one or two.
02:29Now, the main focus for wet weather on Wednesday
02:32is out into the North Sea and drifting
02:34into eastern parts of England, looking
02:36in this line of potentially heavy,
02:38showery rain affecting parts of eastern Scotland
02:40and eastern England.
02:41And again, a fairly brisk wind bringing somewhat of a chill.
02:45Again, temperatures mostly only 13 or 14 Celsius,
02:48so a touch below average for the time of year.
02:50Add on that wind on some of those North Sea coasts
02:52and it will feel an awful lot colder than that.
02:56That swirl of showers on a Wednesday
02:59is courtesy of this area of low pressure
03:01that's been drifting southwards.
03:03It will continue to fizzle away as we head into Thursday.
03:06And then eyes out in the Atlantic
03:07as we start to see a swing in the weather patterns.
03:11This low pressure promising a spell
03:13of wet and windy weather to sweep across the country
03:16from west to east on Friday.
03:18There's some uncertainty about the details of that.
03:20But stay up to date through the week.
03:22And of course, you can always watch our week ahead forecast.
03:25That'll be available Monday afternoon
03:26on YouTube and on Facebook.
