00:00Welcome along to your national weather update.
00:02It's a bit of a messy weather picture, really,
00:04for the rest of this week.
00:06Quite a lot of cloud around, some showers,
00:08but it's quite warm and humid as well.
00:10Here's the bigger picture, the view from space,
00:13a lot of clouds earlier across Scotland, Northern England,
00:15some heavier bursts of rain too on the radar there
00:17across southwest England and parts of Wales.
00:20It's all drifting its way slowly eastwards,
00:22but across eastern England, northeast Scotland,
00:24some sunny spells likely to continue
00:27and not a great deal of rain across East Anglia
00:30and the southeast, just one or two showers here.
00:32Equally across Wales and southwest England
00:34and Northern Ireland should get a bit brighter
00:36come the afternoon into the evening.
00:38We may see some late sunshine.
00:40Temperatures, well, again, fairly mixed.
00:43High teens across Scotland, so close to average here,
00:46but quite warm and humid further south,
00:48even with a lot of cloud and some showers.
00:50Temperatures getting into the low 20s
00:52and with a bit of sunshine up into the mid 20s.
00:54Just the possibility of one or two heavy showers
00:57across parts of the Midlands, northwest England
00:59this afternoon into the evening.
01:01And they could drift eastwards into Lincolnshire
01:03and East Yorkshire for a time as well
01:05before heading out into the North Sea.
01:07And then overnight, again, it's a bit messy,
01:10a few showers in the west, clear spells developing
01:13and temperatures generally holding up.
01:15Quite a warm, humid, muggy night
01:18with many towns and cities staying in the mid
01:20or even high teens.
01:22So a fairly humid start to Tuesday.
01:25Again, there'll be some places that start
01:27with a bit of sunshine,
01:28particularly northeast England, northeast Scotland,
01:30and generally a fine morning for England and Wales,
01:33but some showers likely in the west.
01:35We'll see some showery rain working its way
01:37from the southwest to the north of Scotland
01:39through the day.
01:40One or two scattered showers for Northern Ireland,
01:42but mostly here dry.
01:43But then later on, we could see some heavier bursts of rain,
01:47again, for Wales and parts of southwest England
01:49pushing into the Midlands late on.
01:52Again, not much rain for eastern England,
01:54another dry day here and another pretty warm and humid day.
01:57Bit of sunshine, could see those temperatures
02:00popping up into the high twenties perhaps.
02:02And generally, again, over 20 Celsius for the majority.
02:06So quite a warm, humid feel,
02:08especially when the sun does come out.
02:10But that humidity may spark some heavier showers,
02:13again, over the Midlands, parts of East Wales,
02:15drifting over Northern England during Tuesday evening
02:18and the threat of a bit more rain returning
02:20to the southwest at the same time.
02:22As I said, it is pretty messy.
02:24This wiggling, waving weather front is responsible for that.
02:28Quite a bit of uncertainty later in the week
02:30about how it clears away to the east,
02:32but it should eventually move away
02:34and that could allow a ridge of high pressure
02:36to start to bring some dry conditions across most places
02:40by the time we get into the weekend.
02:42But there's quite a bit of uncertainty,
02:44particularly about the details for the rest of this week.
