14 November - National weather forecast presented by Marco Petagna
Transcript
00:00Hello and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. We've seen the warmest
00:03remembrance Sunday on record this year, but things are set to change over the next few
00:07days. We'll start to see weather systems pushing in off the Atlantic, so things turning wet
00:11and windy once again from the west, and notice the blue colours there starting to push towards
00:15the UK, indicating a drop in temperature back to the seasonal average.
00:18So looking at things in more detail for the overnight period, things are set to turn quite
00:23grotty towards the east and north-east of the UK. Here lots of low clouds and mist and
00:27fog patches forming by Monday morning, whereas out towards the west a band of rain, increasingly
00:31breezy conditions too, moving in across Northern Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and east-southwest
00:36of England. Under some clearer slots away from the mist and fog out towards the east,
00:40we could see lows of 6 or 7 degrees, but milder there towards the west as that rain comes
00:44in. As for Monday itself, well the mist and murk
00:47in the east will take its time to lift as we go through Monday morning, eventually some
00:50brighter breaks developing here into the afternoon, and meanwhile those bands of outbreaks of
00:54rain out towards the west moving in across many central and western parts of the UK,
00:59but notice some sunshine pushing through across Northern Ireland, Wales and the south-west
01:03of England later on in the day. Temperatures continue their trend downwards,
01:06but it's still pretty mild for the time of year, peaking at 16 degrees in the afternoon,
01:10that's a 61 Fahrenheit, still several degrees above the average for mid-November.
01:15As for Tuesday, well wet and windy weather will move in from the south-west, so a pretty
01:18unpleasant day across the bulk of the UK here, some heavy bursts of rain around, coupled
01:22with gales in places, certainly in some exposed parts, and temperatures continue their trend
01:26downwards, peaking at 11-13 Celsius, 13 in the south is the mid-50s in Fahrenheit, and
01:32again that's still just above where they should be for the time of year.
01:35That's pretty much it from me, but you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast by following
01:38us on social media. I'll see you soon, take care, bye bye.
