Transcript
00:00Hello, the Met Office have amber weather warnings in force for strong winds across the east of Scotland and northeast of England on Saturday afternoon, potentially gusts to 80 miles an hour or so.
00:10That's all thanks to Storm Malik now moving away to the east of the UK towards Scandinavia.
00:15Attention now turning to the west of the UK, another named storm heading our way for Sunday into Monday. That's been named Storm Corrie by the Met Office just recently.
00:24So looking at the detail then as we head into Saturday afternoon, a very blustery afternoon to come across the north of Scotland.
00:30Those gales only very slowly easing towards the north and northeast, some showers wintry over the high ground there.
00:36And some rain also clearing from the far south of England to leave a cooler afternoon with some sunshine around at times.
00:42As we head into the evening, the last of the rain will clear from the south of England.
00:46Those winds will continue to die down across the northeast of Scotland, leaving a generally dry night across the UK.
00:52Under clear skies turning quite frosty with one or two fog patches, temperatures dipping just below freezing in some rural areas by Sunday morning.
01:00After a murky cold start then on Sunday, plenty of sunshine around.
01:04But as we head into the afternoon, notice some wet and windy weather returning to northwestern parts of the UK with snow over the hills in Scotland.
01:11That's the first signs of Storm Corrie approaching from the Atlantic.
01:15That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast by following us on social media.
01:21Bye bye for now.
