00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. We'll hold on to quite
00:03showy weather across the UK over the next day or so, but things will quieten down as
00:08we head into the coming week. Low pressure is generally in charge at the moment, generating
00:12those showers, but the building pressure as we head into the early part of next week will
00:16quieten the weather down with more on the way of sunshine and more on the way of drier,
00:19generally brighter conditions across the country.
00:21It's the showers out towards the west as we head into the evening and overnight period
00:25are main focus of concern. Some quite heavy showers in places, one or two thundery downpours
00:30here as well. Whereas towards the south-east and up towards the far north-east of the UK,
00:34more on the way of clear weather around and turning quite chilly too, particularly across
00:37the north-east of Scotland, could see a touch of frost by Sunday morning here with lows
00:41around about 1 or 2 degrees.
00:43So into Sunday then, plenty of showers from the word go out towards west and north-west.
00:48One or two of those are quite heavy and even thundery from the start of the day too. And
00:52those showers become more widespread as we go through the day on Sunday, pushing into
00:55the Midlands and central, southern parts of England into the afternoon. Whereas the south-east
00:59holds on to the best of the bright weather. And meanwhile those showers across Northern
01:03Ireland will become particularly intense with some torrential downpours going into the afternoon.
01:07Temperatures are quite chilly up towards the north-east, no better than 6 or 7 degrees.
01:12Whereas down towards the south, peaking at 16 to 19 degrees. 19 there in London is 66
01:17in Fahrenheit, which is pretty good actually for the time of year.
01:20During the evening and overnight period on Sunday, the showers tend to migrate their
01:24way eastwards, so it's the east and south-east of England, which will see most of the showers
01:27on Bank Holiday Monday. Some showery rain too, pushing south across Scotland, but elsewhere
01:32more in the way of fine weather around. Plenty of dry weather with some bright spells. And
01:36temperatures still doing quite well in the sunshine, peaking at 16 to 19, locally even
01:4020 degrees towards the south-east, but cooler still towards the north-east of Scotland.
01:44That's it for me, I'll see you soon, take care, bye bye.
