00:00Thanks for joining me for this national weather update. We'll go through the
00:04weekend but first of all we've got to go through Friday of course which is
00:07looking fairly cloudy and really mild. Here's the view from space, thickest
00:12cloud across Scotland and Northern Ireland so we do have some drizzly
00:16conditions across parts of Western England and Wales but much of the south
00:20will be dry. We'll see a few more breaks in the cloud so a better chance of
00:24seeing some brighter skies here and a bit of sunshine coming through. Staying
00:27mostly drab for Northern England and Scotland there will be some patchy rain
00:31that edging away up across Orkney by the end of the day. Some brightest skies
00:36could develop in Northern Ireland and on the west coast of Scotland as well where
00:40it will be a little bit breezy but generally the winds a bit lighter than
00:43they have been through much of this week and it is mild. Temperatures 11, 12, 13
00:48perhaps even 14 Celsius where we see some sunny spells across the south. It'll
00:53be fairly mild overnight as well if you're heading out this evening it's
00:56looking dry and mostly cloudy. The rain will edge its way up towards Shetland
01:01before fizzling out. There'll still be some drizzle here and there in the west
01:05mostly over coasts and hills. We could see some breaks in the cloud particularly over
01:10parts of the east and that's where we'll probably see the lowest temperatures
01:13four or five degrees maybe a little lower in some rural spots but most
01:17places really quite mild for February starting the weekend at seven to nine
01:21Celsius. The weekend weather again most places dry on Saturday certainly for
01:26England and Wales again a little bit of drizzle here and there over hills and
01:30West Wales in particular. Now there will be some rain moving into Scotland and
01:33Northern Ireland during Saturday initially into the far northwest but by
01:36lunchtime creeping down towards Glasgow that rain spreading across Northern
01:41Ireland during the afternoon and then across the central belt and into
01:44southern Scotland by the end of the afternoon. Behind it it'll turn a bit
01:48brighter in western parts of Northern Ireland and the Highlands but blustery
01:52here with a few showers. For much of England and Wales just a cloudy dry day as I
01:56said still a bit of drizzle here and there and again there should be some
02:00breaks in the cloud here and there but overall a fairly grey Saturday but again
02:05mild 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. Temperatures will drop off behind this
02:09band of rain because it is a cold front which will continue to track southwards
02:14during Saturday evening so there will again be some rain on Saturday evening
02:18northern England parts of North Wales but as it pushes south it is fizzling
02:23out. It's allowing those clearer skies to come in further north so it will turn
02:27colder on Saturday night with a frost more widely on Sunday morning. There is
02:31that cold front as I said it's fizzling out as it pushes southwards out of the
02:36way by Sunday and look at this big area of high pressure sitting right across
02:40the country on Sunday promising lots of sunny skies and too much in the way of
02:46cloud at all. Temperatures won't be as high on Sunday back closer to average
02:50and it will be a bit of a chilly start first thing. We're looking at further
02:55frosts as we go through next week as well. More details on that of course if
02:59you follow us right across social media and if you're watching on YouTube don't
03:03forget to hit subscribe.
