00:00Hello. Mild and cloudy sums up the weather for most places today.
00:05The view from space shows quite a lot of cloud around and also some outbreaks of rain.
00:10It's been a wet morning across north-west Scotland and we've also seen some lighter rain
00:14across parts of north-west England and patchy rain too for Wales and south-west England also.
00:19We'll keep some rain and drizzle here and there over the hills of western England and Wales
00:24and heavy rain continues across north-west Scotland where it's also looking pretty blustery.
00:29For many though it will be dry and fairly cloudy, some breaks in the cloud across parts of the east.
00:35So we will keep some of that light rain and drizzle across parts of western England and Wales,
00:39mostly over the hills. Heavier rain continues across north-west Scotland
00:43where it's also going to be turning increasingly windy.
00:46But most places dry, some brightness across parts of the east but overall predominantly cloudy.
00:51It will be mild with temperatures getting up to double figures quite widely
00:55and maybe in the south 12 or perhaps even 13 Celsius.
00:58Quite gusty winds though developing particularly through this afternoon and evening
01:02over parts of north-east England and eastern and northern Scotland.
01:06Could get some very strong gusts at least for a time through the night time period.
01:10At the same time the rain will trickle southwards kind of easing off as it does so
01:14turning a little damp through central and then southern Scotland.
01:17A little rain at times through the early hours over northern Ireland.
01:20Further south it just stays dry and cloudy and it will be very mild here.
01:24Temperatures in the south generally holding up at 7, 8, even 9 degrees Celsius.
01:29As the rain clears from northern Scotland clearer skies here will allow it to turn a little colder.
01:34Temperatures more likely to be 2 or 3 degrees Celsius in some locations.
01:38The damp and drizzly conditions will be still around in the morning
01:42over the far north-west of England, northern Ireland and south-west Scotland.
01:45That rain just pushes back northwards through the day.
01:48Nothing heavy, not as heavy as today for sure and easing off over north-west England.
01:53Further south most places dry and a brighter day perhaps for parts of Wales.
01:58Particularly to the east of the hills and south-west England we should see some sunny spells coming through.
02:03But again the majority just dry and cloudy and the winds will be lighter tomorrow as well.
02:08Temperatures perhaps a touch higher so still very mild.
02:12We're starting off at 8 or 9 so we'll easily get to 10, 11, 12, maybe 13, perhaps even 14
02:17with a bit of sunshine across parts of the south during Friday afternoon.
02:21Through Friday evening that rain is moving its way slowly over the northern isles.
02:25Again some drizzle here and there over hills in the west.
02:28Chiefly over the highlands and the western isles where it will stay fairly blustery.
02:32But elsewhere light winds, cloudy skies and some fairly mild conditions as we head into the weekend.
02:37The weekend looking dry for the majority.
02:39Will be some rain crossing Scotland and northern Ireland on Saturday.
02:43Some good spells of sunshine especially so on Sunday.
02:46And by Sunday it will just be a little bit colder.
