00:00Hello. Storm Franklin may have cleared away and the weather looks calmer for much of this
00:05week but far from calm. It's still at times going to be pretty lively. There's Franklin
00:11disappearing, a brief bump in the ice bars before the next weather system approaches
00:16and that will bring most of us some rain during the first part of Tuesday. Monday evening
00:22though sees clear skies across the east, maybe some pockets of frost across northeast Scotland.
00:27Before that next set of weather fronts arrive, the warm front bringing cloud and patchy rain,
00:31the cold front bringing a band of pretty intense rain and strengthening winds up to the northwest.
00:38Elsewhere though, the winds are easing down after Franklin and that will allow temperatures
00:42to drop quite sharply, especially through the evening across the east. But as that warm
00:46front introduces the milder air to the west, temperatures here to start Tuesday will be
00:51well above freezing. But it is going to be raining hard across western Scotland and Northern
00:56Ireland first thing on Tuesday morning. That weather front though is going to shift through
01:00pretty sharpish. So by 8 o'clock, the worst of the rain cleared from Northern Ireland
01:04and the Central Belts but it will be a wet morning rush hour across northwest England,
01:10north and west Wales. Much of central and eastern England will be dry and we'll see
01:15that rain trickling southwards but also easing off as it spreads into the Midlands, Wales,
01:22southwest England and then finally into East Anglia and the southeast around the early
01:25part of the afternoon. But even here it's gone by the end of the day and brighter skies
01:29will follow. So will a few showers, scattered rain showers over northwest England, northern
01:34Ireland, fairly frequent wintry showers across western Scotland. Rain at low levels but over
01:39the hills there will be some snow mixed in. It will still be pretty windy across the far
01:44north but the winds for most of us considerably lighter than Monday's values. Breezy and bright
01:50then generally through the afternoon with temperatures still above average in the south
01:5310, 11, 12 Celsius, 8 or 9 Celsius across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Through Tuesday
02:00evening we'll continue to see some showers coming into the northwest before they eventually
02:04start to ease later in the night. Clearer skies further south, still enough of a breeze
02:09to stop too much in the way of frost. And then that next weather system coming in bringing
02:13rain across the northwest and strengthening winds, that rain spreading into Northern Ireland
02:18eventually into central and southern Scotland. A few showers scattered across more western
02:23parts of England and Wales but for many across England and Wales Wednesday looks dry. Still
02:27going to be blustery though, the winds just picking up once more compared to Tuesday.
02:32Sunny spells across the east and temperatures again 8, 9, 10 degrees Celsius but feeling
02:38a bit colder on Wednesday because that wind will be that much stronger. And colder air
02:43arriving in the northwest behind that weather front. We'll see more wintry showers coming
02:47in here and the potential for a bit of heavy snow across the northwest on Thursday. For
02:51more on that you can see our week ahead forecast on our YouTube channel.
