00:00Beautiful winter sunshine on offer across much of the UK today.
00:04There's a bit more cloud spilling into parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland
00:08as we can see here on the satellite image but we've basically got a big area
00:11of high pressure here and it's just some moving of high and medium level cloud
00:17which brought some beautiful sunrises this morning. The thicker cloud though is
00:21moving into the Western Isles, a little bit of light rain likely here this
00:24afternoon, the breeze picking up and some of that light rain may just affect the
00:27highlands by the end of the afternoon. But for most places it is dry, certainly
00:31for much of England and Wales lots of sunshine on offer, a bit more cloud for
00:35Scotland and Northern Ireland but to the northeast of Scotland we'll hang on to
00:39some sunny spells here too. Temperatures pretty much bang on average for the time
00:43of year seven to nine Celsius, perhaps a little higher than average across
00:46Scotland and Northern Ireland but temperatures will quickly drop off with
00:50these clear skies over England and Wales overnight so that frost coming back
00:54pretty sharpish and we'll see a bit more fog I suspect tonight over parts of the
00:59Midlands, South Wales and Southern England could be quite dense and may
01:03linger into Tuesday morning. Not as cold so tonight's got Scotland and Northern
01:08Ireland where we'll keep a lot more clouds and there's a weather front this
01:12line of patchy rain just coming in to the northwest of Scotland and the
01:16western parts of Northern Ireland by morning time. That will continue to track
01:20southwards during the course of Tuesday but it'll kind of fizzle out as it does
01:25so. Again for England and Wales a sunny day by and large but don't forget that fog
01:29will be around for the morning rush hour, it may linger until late morning in one
01:33or two places. A cloudy day for northwest England, southern Scotland, the
01:38odd spot of rain is possible here but the far northwest actually brightening
01:41up as that weather front weakening all the while pushes further southwards.
01:46Temperature wise well similar to Monday's values 7 to 9 degrees Celsius
01:52but probably feeling pretty cold across the south of that fog doesn't clear
01:56until quite late in the day. But again there'll be some afternoon sunshine here
02:00and then those clear skies will then again allow a frost to come back
02:05pretty quickly on Tuesday evening. A bit more cloud across northern England,
02:09southern Scotland but some clearer skies in the northwest. The wind starting to
02:13pick up here though and that is going to be a big feature of the weather as we
02:16head into the middle part of the week. Another cold front moving southwards,
02:20high pressure still dominating further south but as this weather front moves in
02:24on Wednesday I suppose really nipping together there. So some very blustery
02:28conditions for a time during Wednesday across northern and western parts of
02:33Scotland. Again though bumping up against high pressure that weather front kind of
02:36just fizzles out and generally high pressure holding on across the south
02:39will keep most places here dry throughout this week. We'll have a full
02:44UK wide week ahead forecast available for you on our YouTube channels by
02:49Monday afternoon so hit subscribe and then you won't miss it.
