00:00Hello. Good afternoon. Welcome to your latest weather update. It should stay dry and bright
00:04for many southern and central areas through this afternoon. But the further north and
00:08west you are, the more likely you are to feel that cool breeze. We've got low pressure up
00:13to the north and east of the UK, and that's dragging in this northwesterly wind direction.
00:18We've also got a pretty cold air mass across the UK, and that is because a cold front swept
00:23through yesterday. And we're going to be staying in this cooler air mass throughout today and
00:27into Thursday as well. So a cool and breezy feel for many northwestern areas. Frequent
00:32showers will push in on that northwesterly wind as well. They bring a risk of thunderstorms,
00:37perhaps some hail as well. So they could be pretty unpleasant if you do get caught out
00:41in any of those showers. A different feel, though, further south and east for many parts
00:47of England and Wales, parts of eastern Scotland as well. It should stay fairly dry and bright
00:52through much of the day. And actually, across the south, temperatures will still be in the
00:56high teens. It's a good few degrees below where they were yesterday across the south
01:00and east. But still, I think across the south coast, the winds are fairly light, so it should
01:04still feel fairly pleasant in any sunshine across the south. And it'll be a fairly nice
01:09end to the day across the south coast, eastern areas of Scotland as well, eastern parts of
01:13northern England still seeing plenty of bright weather to end the day. And that will lead
01:17us into a clear night tonight. Clear skies developing for many eastern and southern areas.
01:22There's a bit more in the way of cloud moving in from the west into parts of Wales and the
01:26Midlands, possibly in the southwest, where we could see a few showers overnight. And
01:30here, temperatures will be held up a little bit higher than they were last night. However,
01:35under the clearest skies across eastern areas of Scotland, parts of Wales as well, we could
01:40see temperatures dip down low enough to allow a rural grass frost. So potentially another
01:45fairly chilly start to the day on Thursday. But once again, for many of us, it should
01:49be fairly bright. There is a risk of some showers pushing in across central areas of
01:54England, I think a greater risk than this morning. But in general, it's going to be
01:57a pretty similar day tomorrow compared to today, with the most frequent showers pushing
02:02in from the north and west and the further south and east you are, particularly into
02:05the afternoon, the best chance of any drier and brighter weather lasting into the afternoon.
02:11And it is going to be a slightly warmer day tomorrow. Temperatures climbing towards 18
02:15or 19 degrees, just a degree or so higher than today, but still only 12 or 13 across
02:21the northwest. So still a pretty cool feel. And we start to pick up more of a westerly
02:26wind direction through Thursday evening and into Friday. And that will allow showers to
02:30break out a little bit more widely across western areas of the UK as we head into Friday
02:36morning. So a greater risk of showers for southern and western areas through Friday.
02:41But it does look like it's going to turn a little bit drier from the south and west
02:44into the weekend. See you later.
