00:00Good morning. Today's definitely the better day of the bank holiday to be getting out
00:04and about as it's looking much warmer and drier than it has been lately for most of
00:09us. There's some mist and fog around first thing but that should clear quite quickly
00:13and for most of us the best of sunshine will be through the morning. Cloud will thicken
00:16a little through the day particularly across the east of England as this area of rain is
00:21one to watch. It could turn a little heavy particularly across northeastern areas of
00:26England perhaps into Norfolk as well. But for most of us it's going to be a fairly dry
00:31day. Plenty of sunshine around. Highs of around 20-22 degrees in the south. Closer to 18 or
00:3819 across northern areas. So not a bad day at all particularly compared to recently and
00:44particularly compared to the rest of the weekend as this band of showery rain will arrive from
00:49the south west through this evening. So it's going to turn a bit wetter across parts of
00:53Devon and Cornwall and southwestern areas of Wales through this evening. So make sure
00:58you get out early if you are planning on getting out. Now this band is going to push northwards
01:02through the night and that area of rain from eastern England will push into northern England.
01:07Parts of Scotland through the night as well. So for many of us it's going to be a fairly
01:10damp and cloudy night. But that does mean it will be a milder night than last night.
01:16So with a bit of a chilly start out there this morning. Tomorrow morning won't be anywhere
01:20near as chilly. But it's definitely going to be cloudier and wetter. And that theme
01:25will unfortunately continue through a lot of Sunday particularly across northern areas
01:30where I think it will stay cloudy through a lot of the day across northern Ireland,
01:34Scotland, northern England as well. We could see some quite heavy bursts of rain in that
01:38front as it does move northwards. But it's to the south where we start to see a mix of
01:42sunshine and showers through the rest of the day. So across many areas of England and Wales
01:47there's a risk of some quite heavy downpours potentially thunderstorms as well. We could
01:52see up to around 30 millimetres of rain falling. So that could bring some localised flooding
01:57issues. So do keep up to date with the forecast through the day for Sunday if you are planning
02:01on getting out and about. Having said all that there is a chance you could stay dry
02:05if you do manage to dodge all the showers. And if you do it's not going to be too bad
02:09a day. Temperatures are still into the high teens. So there is a chance of not a bad day
02:14for some of us. But I think you will be quite lucky to escape the showers entirely. Now
02:19it will likely stay unsettled as we head into Bank Holiday Monday as well. And that's because
02:24the area of low pressure is still close by bringing some bands of showery rain. They
02:29will become a bit more focused across eastern areas on Monday. And actually to the west
02:33of the UK we start to see a ridge of higher pressure developing and that will settle things
02:38down bringing a chance of some late sunshine on the Bank Holiday Monday afternoon. However,
02:43that again is not going to last too long as the next area of low pressure is ready
02:47to arrive into the west for the rest of the half term week. Now make sure you keep up
02:53to date with the forecast all throughout this Bank Holiday weekend and you can do that by
02:56subscribing to our YouTube channel. Bye bye.
