00:00Hello, good afternoon, welcome to your latest update from the Met Office.
00:03After a bit of a foggy start for some of us, it will turn much brighter for the rest of
00:07the afternoon. It's going to feel fairly warm in the sunshine, but you can see in the satellite
00:11picture from this morning there was a bit of cloud around this morning. That's slowly
00:15starting to clear and we have got some brighter spells developing. But there is some rain
00:19across the far northwest. That's an approaching weather front that will bring some rain to
00:23parts of the Western Isles, parts of the Highlands as well later on this afternoon. It will turn
00:27heavier through this evening. Elsewhere, though, it should be a dry and fairly bright
00:31afternoon. The best of the sunshine is going to be in the south and east. Central areas
00:35of England could see highs of 22 degrees, possibly 23. I think in many areas it will
00:40feel fairly warm in the sunshine. However, if you're under that thicker cloud and rain
00:44in the northwest, or you do get caught in any fog across the coastal areas, across the
00:49southwest, possibly North Sea coast as well, it will feel a little bit cooler here than
00:53elsewhere. So inland areas are likely to stay the warmest through the rest of the week
00:58as well. This evening, that rain will turn a bit more persistent and will spread into
01:02more widely across Scotland. We could see some drizzly rain across northern areas of
01:07England as well, but I think rain will be fairly isolated anywhere further south than
01:11Scotland. So it should be a fairly dry night. So mist and fog could develop once again,
01:15mainly across coastal areas. We won't see quite as much as we saw this morning by tomorrow
01:20morning, and it's going to be another mild start to the day. Temperatures quite widely
01:24in cities towards the mid teens or low teens, but really still in clearer skies. But across
01:30parts of Wales, we could still see lows of three or four degrees. So really, it could
01:34still be a bit of a chilly start. But I think most of us will get off to quite a mild, bright
01:40and dry start to the day. And Thursday is going to be a warmer day than today for most
01:44areas far away from the far northwest. More in the way of sunshine, it could turn a little
01:49bit hazier, particularly across parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England, where
01:52you're closer to that weather front. That weather front will slowly edge ever northward,
01:57so it will brighten up even across western areas of Scotland into the afternoon. With
02:01more in the way of sunshine, it's going to be a warmer day. Highs of 23, 24 degrees possibly
02:07across central areas of England, eastern areas of Wales and widely temperatures climbing
02:12towards the high teens for many areas. So a fairly warm couple of days. It's going to
02:17be staying warm as well through Friday and into Saturday when the heat is likely to peak.
02:22High pressure is still in charge. We start to pick up more of a southerly wind as well
02:26for Saturday, and that's going to peak the temperatures around 25 or 26 degrees. The
02:31UV levels will be rising to high. Make sure you're ready for that. And you've got sun
02:35cream at the ready. Have a great day. Bye bye.
